There is no way this fight is gonna make more than 3 million bucks after expenses. This is probably the saddest matchup I have witnessed in 15 years of being a boxing fan and there will be no real winners on fight night.
Jones has the punch resistance of a prime Charlie Zelenoff and the speed and reflexes of Frankenstein. He is only gonna last as long as Bernard lets him which will probably be awhile because Hopkins knows it's a farce and probably won't want to knock Jones out in 1 minute and prove everyone right.
I am boycotting this fight, anyone who buys it is doing the sport a disservice by telling the powers that be that fans will continue to pay 60 bucks for complete bull**** fights.
The only good thing about this fight is I will make some more money betting against Roy Jones. Over the past 6-7 years I have made a small fortune betting on Tarver, Johnson, Green and Calzaghe.
So I guess I also want to say thank you to Roy Jones since I will probably make more money off this fight than he will.

I'm a fan of both guys, maybe Hopkins a little more than Roy, but what I really don't want to see is Roy getting stopped again, I hate seeing great fighters like him getting beat up.
I think it will be a decent fight since the way both guys styles match up is even. Roy is the more physically talented guy, and while they are both smart B-Hop edges him out in the brains department, and he is more technical.
I think Roy might snatch the early rounds (providing he isn't caught cold) based on his speed, but I think Hop brings himself back into it with smart aggression and some nice counters, plus good D. It's actually a really close fight from my eyes, but thing is Roy's chin seems to me like it is past it's shelf life big time, there's a very real chance B-Hop catches him and hurts him with a right hand. If Roy's chin holds up, we see a good fight that could just go Roy's way. But if Roy gets shakylegged at any point, I find it hard to see him winning, he tends to really lose it once he is hurt or cut.

As I said before I'll care about this fight if I find out that Jones won. Because on Hopkins' end a win means ****. In fact if I see an excited BHOP celebrating over an unconscious Jones, I'll be sick to my stomach.

I hope it's not the case as history is littered with punch-drunk, bankrupt fighters. Even such comparatively young men like Hearns and Holyfield are in big trouble.

Boycotting what exactly? You already said that you wouldn't pay for it so what are you crying for? I agree that this shouldn't have been ($60) on PPV but to say that it's a 'disgrace to the sport' and 'to the young fighters' is a farce in itself. What does it have to do with young fighters anyway? They will get their shine, if they're good enough.
These two guys are already HoF's and ATG's and have given the sport more than most in their era.
What happens on Saturday won't delete their accomplishments as it's already in the history books and you dimwits know that you can't erase history.
Fan for 15 years? Who the **** are you kidding, to let a couple of losses affect your favourite fighters accomplishments. Sure, the casual "fan" may think RJJ is old and slow, Hopkins' too defensive and too 'old school' but truth is that they've already accomplished everything they wanted. Hopkins feels that he still has something left in him and Jones' hungry to settle the score once and for all and probably announce his retirement short after (or take a last fight with Danny Green).
If you don't care about the fight, then stop making topics about it and forget it. Don't even watch it when it airs for free a week after the PPV event and let those who wants to see it alone.
