It may be that this thought could have already passed through your heads already, but I was thinking about it now. The Margarito win over Cotto changed everything in the welterweight division, cheat or no cheat it did change everything. If Cotto would have won, possibly by close decision, we probably would have seen Miguel Cotto vs. Oscar De La Hoya on December 6, 2008 instead of De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao. Miguel Cotto would probably still be undefeated at 147, since we would have not yet seen a Cotto vs. Pacquiao matchup and we would still be discussing a possible Cotto vs. Mayweather fight instead of Pacquiao vs. Mayweather. Pacquiao would probably now be moving up to 140. Ricky Hatton would probably still be undefeated at 140 and a relevant name in the division. Mayweather would have come out of retirement to face possibly Margarito, so he could beat him more convingly than Cotto to make a statement for a Cotto - Mayweather superfight, since Cotto would have layed down the blueprint to beat Margarito, instead of fighting Marquez to make the statement he made for a Pacquiao - Mayweather showdown (maybe I'm giving Mayweather to much credit). Be that as it may, those things didn't happen, and we can't change history, so maybe it was for the best or worst, but we should enjoy what has happened in boxing, I know I am but it was just an interesting thought. How July 26, 2008 Probably Changed Everything

I never got the whole "Pac cherrypicked/drained Oscar" bull**** around here. Oscar wanted Cotto and Margarito ruined it for him. Oscar was the one who cherrypicked Pac. Pac pulled the upset and launched himself to a higher level. And of course Cotto got a ton of damage on him in the Margarito ass whipping.Comment

Margarito was going to be used as a stepping stone and instead he screwed Miguel and Oscar's plans;

of course i thought about this scenario many times.
bottomline, pac wouldn't have been as big as he is today without cheato's actions.Comment
