If Haye is so popular and is the supposed savior of the heavyweight division why is the fight not even being aired in the USA? And the fact is Haye has been averaging one fight a year at heavyweight. So, at that rate don't you think it is going to take him forever to save the division?

Ruiz says he was robbed 3 times in Germany...
I haven't seen his 2 fights (or 3 ?) against Valuev. It wouldn't be surprising if he did get rob. Germany is the land of the boxing robberies.
But as for the Chagaev fight, no way, he wasn't robbed. It was a competitive fight, Ruiz was using a nice uppercutt (which was kind of new for him), but Ruslan decisively won. He even hurt Ruiz (which thing ****** braddman hasn't noticed).
Anyway, I hope
beats Ruiz.

Maybe some of Ruiz`s losses could actually be wins... But, my God, I`d rather see him getting robbed in the favor of untalented, ******, awkward loud-mouth, then becoming a part of boxing history through winning a third HW championship... I`m sorry, Ruiz, we have had enough of you...Comment

No he won't. Haye doesn't even want to fight past another couple years.
And he's not good enough to "take over the division" anyway. Sam Peter
at his current good form could knock his ass out right now easily, to just
name someone other than a Klitschko. So could Tua. Haye will NEVER dominate the heavyweight division, or unify all the titles, because he ain't good enough, or active enough, or determined enough. He wants the easy way out with a big payday at the end. What the Klitschkos are doing by owning the HW division for over a decade will be looked back on in boxing history -- when all the old-time media haters like Bert Sugar who simply don't like Euro fighters are dead and gone -- with great respect, because it won't happen again for a long time, if ever. If dominating was so easy to do, more people would be able to do it. Haye has already told us he isn't interested in even trying to "take over" the division, even if he could.Comment

The fact is that HBO have made it clear that the only Klitschko fight they are interested in showing in the foreseeable future is a Klitschko-Haye fight. They are in business to make a profit, and they presumably know their audience better than you do.I don't have an opinion poll, but my guess is that just as when the mostly unpopular Valuev suddenly had a lot more fans when he fought Haye, the mostly unpopular Ruiz will have a lot more people than usual pulling for him when he also fights Haye. Haye has the effect of creating new fans for unpopular boxers. He should run a fan club for Ruiz and Valuev.
My sense is that Haye had more American support until he "bitched out" (to quote Wlad) of the two Klitschko fights. After that, many have written him off as just a big mouth, and if he doesn't totally spark Ruiz, he will be written off for good.
"The Ring" has also made it clear (most recently in an article by Michael Rosenthal) that either Klitschko vs. Haye is by a long way the heavyweight fight they're most interested in seeing - and The Ring is as American as any boxing publication, and more respected and influential than any of the others.
I do agree that Haye has to perform well against Ruiz, though, in order to maintain that interest. But to pretend that interest isn't there lacks all credibility and is clearly just a hater's wishful thinking. "Perform well" doesn't necessarily have to mean "totally spark", though - you're wrong about that. But he'll certainly have to take more risks than he did in his last fight, and look good doing it.Last edited by Dave Rado; 04-02-2010, 04:48 AM.Comment
