No one said it was great but it is underrated.

      • Nope, he'd have to beat both Mosley and Pacquiao.

        • He has to have a better resume... One of the greatest fighters of course he is but his resume at welterweight isn't that impressive. Hopefully he adds more names on it before he retires.

          • skillwise---he's the best ww of this era---he's a complete fighter with skills unmatched by anyone---
resume---hell yes he's one of the best----he fought a linear champion in baldomir who was the champion of the division--judah was behind baldomir--no spinning it wrong there either---he's about to fight mosley--he wanted mosley back in 06, before mosley lost to cotto, mosley backed out----cotto still hasn't actually challenged floyd yet---and after he fights and beats mosley, pac is getting his ass whooped too----margarito was found cheating, so who knows how long he was cheating for---paul williams hasn't proved himself yet still---he lost to quitana, he beat him easily in the rematch, but he did lose to him---and paul fought sharmba mitchell just like floyd did---

floyd doesn't have a resume like oscar, pernell, tito, or even mosley at ww, but he's getting there---i tell u what though---i guarantee he beats them all though---guaranteed---

            • No question he is one of the best of this era. I hope Shane beats him silly, and if he cant, I hope Paq beats him silly, and if he cant, I hope someone else beats him silly. No, I dont like him, but that doesnt mean I dont think he is one of the best.

Completely disagree. Zab Judah and Carlos Baldomir are his two best wins at welterweight. Even when they were at the top they weren't the best, and anyone that thought they were better than Margarito are simply wrong. Sorry, that doesn't qualify Floyd in the discussion of best welterweights of this era, not to me. You have to ignore the talent and go on resume.

Margarito was rebuilding himself after his loss to Santos, then proceeds to lose to Williams during Floyd's reign at Welterweight.

I've always felt Margarito was simply overrated. Not to mention there's always the possibility he was carrying bricks in his hands.

                    • NO, even in this era of the past 4 years floyd's WW resume is lacking any substance.

Name any of his opponents that are credible. The best youll find is baldomir, (who only got that spot beating judah, whose body of work was better at LWW)

Of this era alone, clottey, manny, paul williams, margarito, mosley, all have some sort of triangle theory on each other. Top WW's, who happen to fight WW's.

Whose name isnt on that list, and why would you even want to include him as one of the "best" WW's of ANY era? He's a WW fighting outside his class, more recently, JMM and Hatton. to be considered the best at that class, I think you would have to fight other fighters in the same weight class.
