A Question For People Who Are Picking Kessler Over Froch

Would your prediction be different if the fight was happening in the UK?

So far all of the home fighters have won their bouts in the S6. Last time out we saw how Froch was able to rough up Dirrell without the ref doing anything about it, and how Ward was able to rough up Kessler.

I think it's fair to say that Froch is less likely to be able to hit and hold or rabbit punch with the fight taking place in Denmark.

Kessler's only 2 defeats have been away from home, and it's possible that the crowd will give him a boost that could see him through some tough moments.

I think Kessler would win regardless of the venue
    66.67%
    8
Home advantage will be crucial, Kessler would lose without it
    33.33%

i made a bet in this fight ages ago, but as the fight gets closer im struggling to pick a winner. It'll be a close contest, and the home advantage may just be the deciding factor in the end. I cant see it not going 12 rounds though, the crowd may play a small part on the judges scoring (cheering for punches that actually miss etc)

edit - i cant see the ref playing a big part in this, maybe a warning for rabbit punching but thats about it

The more I think about it, Kessler should win. Froch will not be able to get away with any rough tactics in Herning. So the fight is gonna be fought on the outside. Froch is a clumsy guy, I think Kessler's straight shots should work better for him. Hope Carl can pull it off though.

I would still slightly favour kessler if the fight was in the UK but nowhere near as much as i favour him now,i think the location of the fight does make quite a difference,i mean its the reason froch has the win over dirrell

Of course location makes a differance, just look at home & away forms for many football teams and you will the the home advantage is always better.

But saying that many boxer still lose even with all the dodgy refs and promotors that come with the home decisions.

Kessler fought well against Calzaghe in the UK so I don't think it makes that much difference at all. Going across the Atlantic is of course a different matter.

I wonder how much damage Kessler has taken, he was already a fighter who had back-problems and supposedly he has serious hand-problems from what I've heard on the net... All I got to say is that Calzaghe fought the most motivated Kessler who still had his 0 on the line. I'm picking Froch to beat Kessler by decision.

He also took a bit of punishment from Calzaghe and Ward. Both fights his face was ****ed up at the end. And Calzaghes hurt Kessler to the body which Kessler admitted... I even think a couple times Ward hurt Kessler to the body in their fight.

It's not that big a difference in terms of jetlag and timezones. Still the crowd will be hostile, which will be worth only a little as both fighters has tried this before.

In my mind, and most others I think, there's a little doubt regarding Kessler. How will he mentally handle adversity following the beating he took from the hands and head from Ward? And what about those nasty cuts? Can they hold up for 12 tough rounds?

Froch is confident and ****y. How can he not be? He's had a great run. The best run of all SMW's. He wont quit, but he'll likely eat more shots than he did against Jermain Taylor.

Stylewise Froch is tailormade for Kessler. He's a come forward slowish fighter. I see this as an Andrade like contest. IF Kessler is back at full throttle. I think this is a distance fight, and I see Kessler taking it big.

Kesslers best performance to date has to be the way he dismantled limited fighter Andrade, and he took Andrades 0. If Kessler can get himself back together and is 100 percent for this fight, then you guys are right he should be able to win. I just don't know if Kessler is as good as he once was. He also has to fix up on his lateral skills a bit, he even admitted that he comes too straight forward at times.

Kessler is a smart guy, their is definitely time for improvements. This fight is interesting because I can see Kessler/Froch going either way.
