Is Amir Khan overrated?

I don't know about overrated. He does have that first round KO that will always be in peoples head until he fights a heavy puncher. However, he did easily beat Kotelnik, who was and I believe still is a top 10 JW. I think he has potential but ducking Maidana looks bad and then taking a fight with the lightest punching guy in the division makes it look even worst. Malignaggi is good but the guy has no power. I don't really think Khan is overrated but I do think he gets too much publicity in the sport for someone who has not beaten a top 5 yet. He needs to destroy Paulie or I will start to think he is overrated.

I think people are running with that "feather fist" thing too much. Paulie may not have 1 punch KO power but you don't need that to be a good boxer. For a guy with no KO power to last with beast like Cotto and Hatton is ridiculous. He won't need KO power for Khan who has proven to have a glass jaw. If Paulie trains hard and comes in fit look out for the Magic Man to get a Win.

He got hit cleanly by someone who had a 90% KO ratio at the time they both fought eachother. He couldnt recover from that punch but still managed to get up and give the referee the sign to continue the fight. Even after the 2nd knockdown he tried his best to get up despite his body letting him down. That proves heart my friend.

He got hit and couldnt recover from it. He didnt got outboxed or anything like that.

The only way Amir Khan will make me a fan is if he dominates Paulie Malignaggi. I don't see that happening at this time though.

I've seen several posters post that he's better and more talented than Alexander. Some even have the audacity to say he will beat Bradley.

Are all guys who have proven themselves at 140lbs. I think they will school the youngster. We will soon see if I'm right after May 15th.

Bradley and Alexander are the only two more proven. And Hatton, but I am very confident Khan would beat Ricky. The other guys really haven't beat any top JW's. Khan ducking Maidana looks bad but Maidana did lose to Kotelnik, and Amir easily beat him. Who has Malignaggi, Maidana, Peterson and Urango beaten that is better than Kotelnik? And I don't think Kotelnik is that good but I also don't think guys li ek N'dou or Ortiz have proven themselves anymore than Kotelnik had. I mean, look at the best in the division's resume, Bradley has beat Witter and Holt, both who had lost before and after fighting Bradley and he beat Peterson who really was completely unproven, those are his three best wins, not that impressive. Now don't get me wrong I thing Bradley is good but I am just pointing out that no one in that division is that much more proven we need to wait and see how those guys fair against each other. We know Alexander can KO a top 10 JW in Urango which to me is the most impressive win any of the top guys have in the division thus far.

No, Amir Khan isnt overrated. He got the best physical tools of all the other boxers in the 140 division. He just isnt a complete fighter yet and needs more polishing. Roach is teaching him everything right now and said that Amir is still at 50% of his potential. If he is still at 50% of his best, just imagine how good he will be at 100%.

Amir has got the skills, you cant argue with that.

I think Wazaa does get carried away but at least he acknowledges that his boy is not the best in the JWW division.

I think this fight will be a war then Amir's heart will come in to question. We know Paulie can take a punch. He just can't hit hard but that can be fixed. But Amir's glass jaw can't be changed.

He may have a glass jaw...but he has heart at least....he faught as hard as he could to get up from the prescott KO but the 2nd time he just couldnt...

He showed more heart then most boxers from that 1 ko
