    Is Amir Khan overrated?

Why is Amir Khan so overrated? Isn't this the same guy who got ****d by Prescott? Now he's ducking mandatory defenses ,and paying off the officials to look the other way. He hasn't beaten anybody his whole career yet some think he is the most talented JWW out right now. In reality Amir Khan is still green with limited experience and will face the toughest boxer he has ever faced in the Magic Man Paulie. If he can get past the 140lb "gatekeeper" then he deserves a smidgen of my respect IMO. But Amir Khan will get demolished by Bradley, Alexander, or even Peterson right now at 140lbs. Oh and Maidana is still waiting for his shot Amir. How much is his rep deserved?

No, Amir Khan isnt overrated. He got the best physical tools of all the other boxers in the 140 division. He just isnt a complete fighter yet and needs more polishing. Roach is teaching him everything right now and said that Amir is still at 50% of his potential. If he is still at 50% of his best, just imagine how good he will be at 100%.

Amir has got the skills, you cant argue with that.

I've seen several posters post that he's better and more talented than Alexander. Some even have the audacity to say he will beat Bradley.

        Bradley
        Alexander
        Peterson
        Haton
        Maidana
        Urango
        Malignaggi

Are all guys who have proven themselves at 140lbs. I think they will school the youngster. We will soon see if I'm right after May 15th.

Sounds like hype to me. Roach can't even recall what he says half the time. Getting beat by journey men at a lower weight class proves Amir's chin and talent is suspect.

I don't know about overrated. He does have that first round KO that will always be in peoples head until he fights a heavy puncher. However, he did easily beat Kotelnik, who was and I believe still is a top 10 JW. I think he has potential but ducking Maidana looks bad and then taking a fight with the lightest punching guy in the division makes it look even worst. Malignaggi is good but the guy has no power. I don't really think Khan is overrated but I do think he gets too much publicity in the sport for someone who has not beaten a top 5 yet. He needs to destroy Paulie or I will start to think he is overrated.

Really? Who did Peterson beat? Who did Maidana beat apart from a very green and unproven Ortiz? Who did Urango beat?

Amir dominating Kotelnik >>>>> the best win of any of the bald mentioned fighters.

We know his chins isnt good....

But because he got beat, how is his talent suspect?

Ive watched every khan fight and i have no doubt about it hes got more skill then 90% of the LWW division

Hes the fastest boxer out there or at least 1 of....he has good power, he is improving his defense everytime we see him

                The actual question should be

Why do people like you make threads about 22-23 year olds who arnt even CLOSE to their prime about whether they are overrated or not?

He got hit cleanly by someone who had a 90% KO ratio at the time they both fought eachother. He couldnt recover from that punch but still managed to get up and give the referee the sign to continue the fight. Even after the 2nd knockdown he tried his best to get up despite his body letting him down. That proves heart my friend.

He got hit and couldnt recover from it. He didnt got outboxed or anything like that.
