Mexican culture prides itself on honour, respect, courage and never taking a back foot step ever. Hence, why Mexicans boxers like to brawl and never take a back foot step and try their best never to quit. However, there are always outliers like JMM who rather box than brawl. If you get a average Mexican kid in the ring, and told him to box. He would steam in and try to brawl.

America is more of a self-centric society, every man for himself, especially within the AA community. Americans like to win in style and leave no stone unturned in shaming their opponent. In the American style they would rather clown and outbox and school a boxer for 12 rounds than brawl and win a quick KO. Get an average American kid in the ring and tell him to box. He would automatically be on the back foot trying to outbox his opponent

I cannot come up with an Idea why Europeans seem so one dimensional and robotic at times
I like the thread topic but dude the bold is complete bull**** and a uninformed sterotyped comment that was uncalled for.

there is a lot of narcissistic rhetoric in american culture. What about all this anti free healthcare rubbish and bankers ****ing over society? Not all americans are ego centric but you wouldn't say it wasn't a self centered society (relative to other developed countries).

Also, for all those idiots who might think otherwise, this isn't a race issue. It is very much a cultural one. Personally I think that the defensively orientated american style of boxing is, at the highest level, probably the least flawed. Having said that roberto duran is probably my favourate fighter, style wise.

It's good to keep in mind that there are alot of exceptions as well. such as paul williams, he's an inside pressure fighter with little head movement and little in the way of defense.

I only meant the part about "especially in the aa community". I should have clarified that.

Kick boxing never was in the Philippines as part of the culture. maybe as a hobby. Arnis, Escrima, Kali is the Philippine Martial art.

The reason countries have different styles varies because of athleticism and what they teach.

              For example:

Mexican boxing is based on being tough, never taking a step back and hitting very hard but is also very technical. I just think some Mexican boxers are limited because they are not as slick or athletic as their black or Puerto Rican counter parts. You look at a fighter like Morales for example, he was a very good boxer but most remember him for being a brawler which is not necessarily true. He out boxed Pacman when he beat him, he only decided to brawl in the last round.

Black or African American boxers tend to be more slick because that's what AA trainers teach. They teach speed, movement and rhythm. Of course that fits well with what AA can naturally do, they are fast, strong and move very well.

Puerto Ricans I find tend to fit more of the AA style of boxing for the most part. Yes you have had some tough PR brawlers like a Rosario but for the most part they are very slick and fast as well.

European boxers I find really study the fundamentals of the sport, that's why they seem robotic at times. Even European basketball players reflect this sort of mentality. It's good and bad because they have the fundamental style but lack the creativity for the most part.

Of course there are exceptions to all of these, i was generalizing but that's just my opinion.

I didn't ask and don't care what you consider yourself. That was a bull****, not true and ignorant statement.
