Abraham figured "I'm hurting him now, if he continues he's mine because the damage is done"Direll got jabbed, somehow went down, and then Abe was in the process of throwing a punch before the ref even could say anything. It is not his job to check if Dirells glove touched the canvas, its the refs job to make sure he gives warning the second it happens, and not yell stop when you are in the process of throwing.
This is why the rules of boxing say he should be DQed. It wasn't a combo finishing, he landed on a downed opponent. The rules are clear. Even if Dirrell did act.Comment
