How is that any different than a guy getting hit while looking at the ref?

Remember the first round of Mayweather Gatti when Floyd lept in w/ a left hook and dropped Gatti who was looking at the ref?

Its not clean, but its not illegal either. The ring is a combat zone unless otherwise designed by the referee.

Its no different then hitting a guy who's looking at the ref. When you're in the ring, its combat time, there's no "time outs".

It is a lot different standing up when the fighter is looking at the referee. You are clearly not allowed. There are timeouts when you fall to the ground.
