    Dirrell vs Abraham

that was the performance from Dirrell that I expected. I knew it would look just like pacman vs clottey. It's coming down to dirrell vs ward in the end. It was Dirrell's time to tonight and nothing could come between that. USA, USA,USA

I commend Dirrell for a great performance by outboxing Abraham. The great thing about the super six is that it reveals some curiosities of the international boxings scene. its a clearly America vs Europe. It just seems to me that these fellas Ward & Dirrelll are exposing these European champions as one dimensional boxers who simply cannot deal with an abstract style. They are very linear in their boxing approach and these young Americans are exposing them. Ward did it to Kessler. Dirrell did it to Abraham. This says a lot about the differences of boxing styles between the Euros and the Americans. It's interesting. I believe Abraham probably hit Dirrell because he was frustrated. He was knocked down and outworked by Dirrell and on top of it all Dirrell is considered a prospect stepping up in class by participating in this tournament while Abraham has been elite middleweight/super middleweight for the last 4 years. IMO These guys Ward and Dirrell for stepping up in class they are making one helluva step up the ladder. Dirrell just beat Abraham although by DQ (he had a substantial lead) and Ward just completely dominated Kessler. These fighters have a bright future and the scary part is that they are still young especially Dirrell he's 26.

He was out cold and badly concussed, what are you talking about? He didn't know where he was for several minutes and was rushed to hospital. The doctor said he was worried in case there might be bleeding on the brain, and we won't know for sure whether he's okay until tomrorow.

Abraham is a terrible loser, first claiming that it was a legitimate punch when he clearly hit Dirrell when he was down, and then accusing Dirrell of acting when he was clearly out cold. I've lost all respect for Abraham.

At first glance, I thought Dirrell faked it, however his behavior afterwords, if that is acting then he deserves an academy award. He seemed legitimately confused as to who won the fight and what had actually occurred. That to me appeared to be a hard shot...although in that round Dirrell seemed like he wanted to run out the clock, but he was winning clearly never the less.

direll was dominating the fight clearly, he only lost one round, the ref was on his side though and was not calling it fair, he did get knocked down and that should have been a 0 8 round but he only lost that round. he boxed beautifully, anyone saying ohh 'he runs bla bla' your just hating, aa was getting schooled, i knew direll was going to win, in my eyes hes undefeated, hes very talented the only reason he lost the one round is because he got overconfident, i thought at first he was acting but when you watch the replays you see he defo got kod! why would he need to act when he was winning easily, he took aas best punches flush hes got a good chin. aa was frustrated thats what direll does to you, but he shouldnt be banned from the tourney, his first loss more then makes up for it. i said from day the best fight will be direll ward that will be sick! there the best in the tourney, to the guy that said aa got robbed and that the knockdown before the ko wasnt a slip what are you smoking?

I didn't see it but if that's true than Tua should have been disqualified. It's a simple rule.

Abraham needed a knockout to win, and only had 2 rounds left to pull it off. Had the fight kept going maybe he gets it but more likely it goes the distance and Dirrell wins a lopsided decision.

Too bad we'll never know though since AA had to commit a bonehead unintelligent mistake.

I'm talking about all the posters who are accusing Dirrell of "acting" and faking that he got knocked out. Maybe read the thread first before you comment?

That's exactly what they are, one dimensional fighters.

Im not gonna comment on the whole 'was he acting' debate that is currently doing the rounds, both sides have valid arguments and Im sitting on the fence. Either way AA shouldnt have hit Dirrell when he as down.

What I will say is that I was pretty impressed with Dirrells performance tonight, stood toe to toe for most of it until AA started to get through with some big shots, I wish that AA hadnt got himself disqualified though because the last two rounds were going to be tense, Dirrell dominating most of the fight, getting stunned in the 10th, and going into the 11th AA started opening up and landing a fair bit, Dirrell starting to fade late....Would have loved to have seen the rest of that fight...
