There's an interview on East Side Boxing as proof. Joel even said he respects Floyd, and doubts he'd ever duck him.
casamayor ducked floyd oh boy this just keeps getting better and better. let's see who ducked who hmmmm the guy who fought all the best fighers in his division(casamayor) or the guy who cherry picks and fights guys like phillip ndou and henry brusesles?

I can't. Last time I posted an outsider link I got banned and I had to email Boxing Scene, apologizing to get my account back. I'm not risking that. But here's the interview, in 2007 where Casamayor called Floyd out YEARS too late. He also says that Floyd would never duck him, so nobody can say that he did back when they both fought at 135. It was actually the other way around.

The Ring magazine and linear World Lightweight Champion Joel Casamayor announced today he is willing to move up in weight and challenge The Ring’s world 140-pound champion Ricky Hatton as well as The Ring’s welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather. “I have waited patiently for all these so-called lightweight ‘champions’ to fight me,” says Casamayor, who won the WBC title last October against the late Diego Corrales.

“I challenged Juan Diaz at the Freitas fight, but he is hiding behind his promoter’s skirt. I’m running out of patience waiting for this boy to grow into a man.

“Ricky Hatton says he wants big fights. I’ll give up the weight and fight him. Floyd Mayweather says he wants big fights. I’ll give up the weight and fight him – at any weight.”

Like Casamayor, Hatton (at 140 pounds) and Mayweather (at 147 pounds) are recognized as the true champions of their division, as recognized by Ring Magazine.

“I respect Hatton, I respect Mayweather,” says Casamayor. “I believe they are men, that they will fight. These other boys, these phony champions, they hide behind their managers and promoters and duck me. Since when does a true world champion have to chase his challengers? These other lightweights who have belts, they should be ashamed to call themselves champions.”

Casamayor is currently mandated to fight the winner of the Aug. 4 Erik Morales-David Diaz match. Casamayor says he will fight either man, but added there is no guarantee that the winner will simply duck him, as others have since his October win over Corrales.

“I will fight anyone,” emphasized Casamayor. “I gave up five pounds and beat Corrales. I’ll do the same with Hatton. I’ll give up any weight for Mayweather – let him name it. I am not going to go away. I’m a real fighter – a real champion – and I know someone will accept this challenge.”
I will also look for an interview where Floyd calls out Casamayor back when both fought at 135.

yea in post fight interviews lol. convenient political ploy to blame your opponents for the fight not happening when you control all the shots. behind the scenes he didn't want any that was clear. even his dad said never to match him with southpaws.

Thx BoxerDood. I actually will take back my comments about Floyd ducking Casa. I have no problems admitting I'm wrong when someone can show proof of the opposite being true.

No one on this site think Floyd can be outboxed anyway. They always say he should fight pressure fighters. So he has fought SEVERAL of them.

Pac does NOT fight the style matchup that people think he loses.

            Simple.
The only decent reply to this bait hater thread made by some fan-pretending-to-be-fighter who's legacy is in ruins trying a desperate comparison with the greatest fighter of our generation: Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The second page, I won't even bother to go there.

seriously you don't get it do you. mayweather is a liar. you gonna believe a liar? his entire life is made up of lies and hypocritical statements. here are some facts. mayweather had all the power and control to make whatever fights he wanted. he was hbo's golden boy. he could fight whoever he wanted. casamayor had no control and you better believe he would have took a fight with mayweather for a huge payday. mayweather could have made the fight happen but he didn't.

Call his own shots? What are you talking about? Floyd was still under Top Rank back when he fought at 135. I don't even think he was high on the p4p list yet. How could he call his own shots? He didn't get that ability until after the Zab Judah fight, when he left Top Rank and joined Golden Boy.
