I mean, there are levels of slickness. Certainly Bradley, Cory Spinks, Guzman, Mayweather, etc. are more slick than Cotto. Does that mean Cotto doesn't have some slickness to him? Hell no it doesn't.

What's funny is that a lot of people bring up Junior Jones as a slick fighter that he ducked. Ignoring that he was on a hell of a losing streak when Pacquaio got to 122, Jones was a hell of a lot more aggressive than these super slicksters. I feel that Cotto can be just as slick as Jones was, and showed some of it in the Mosley and Pacquiao fights.
him and junior jones were never in the same division at the same time. I know you are not saying this, but this is aimed at those who bring him up as a fighter pac ducked. Just some FYI....thats all.

wow, this is the same clottey who beat up Cotto, Judah and Corrales right?
LMAO, the way the writer describes it anyone can beat Clottey. All they would have to do is "thow punches"

No he hasn't. You have stated this several times and each and everytime I have shot down this theory. YOu already know the deal...so why do you keep saying this?

They were both at 122 at the same time I think. But that was after the McKinney/Morales back to back 4th round KO.

Manny Pacquiao Still Hasn’t Fought Any Slick Fighters

              Thursday, March 25, 2010

              By Jamal ****y

Many boxing fans were impressed with Manny Pacquiao’s one-sided victory over the immobile Joshua Clottey. Pacman is a fireball and he is extremely well conditioned but his style is so flawed that any slick fighter can exploit him easily. Juan Manuel Marquez showed how easy it is to pick Manny Pacquiao apart.

You have to give credit to Bob Arum and Freddie Roach for handling Manny Pacquiao’s career. They carefully picked opponents that were tailor made for the small Filipino southpaw.

The casual fans are very fickle; they will buy into any hype sold to them. Pacquiao is that hyped up product, he looks amazing against the right opponents. Joshua Clottey who just held his hands over his face hoping not to be knocked out. Oscar De La Hoya defeated himself by coming to the fight weight drained. Ricky Hatton came in head first with his hands by his side inviting the knockout. Miguel Cotto was never the same after the beating he received from Antonio Margarito.

Pacquiao had a list of worthy fighters to choose from; Devon Alexander, Timothy Bradley, Nate Campbell, Paulie Malignaggi, Yuri Foreman, Cory Spinks instead Pacquiao opted to take on a Joshua Clottey, a guy who despite his size doesn’t punch hard, stands in front of you and is not fast or slick. That fight turned out to be boring and uncompetitive with Manny winning a very easy decision against a man who was like a human punching bag.
Manny beat up on a bigger welterweight like Clottey, which is not impressive since the bigger man didn’t fight back. All Pacquiao did, was throw wild power combos all night hoping something lands flush on Clottey. This is not the UFC or Mixed Martial Arts, boxing is a sweet science and Pacquiao’s style of brawling and wild punches has no science, it’s something that ultimate fighting fans would enjoy, that’s probably why the UFC president Dana White is a huge Pacman fan.

Pacquiao isn’t scared of needles, he isn’t on steroids or HGH, and he isn’t scared to give blood, those were all excuses to get out of a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. the true pound-for-pound king. Pacquiao’s handlers know their fighter well, and they know he cannot fight slick counter punchers, so, they avoid them at all costs.

This is probably why Manny Pacquiao is hoping for Shane Mosley to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 1. Mosley is another perfect style match up for Pacquiao. Shane Mosley is a guy who will swing at Manny and come forward fighting Pacquiao’s fight. Pacquiao’s arms are so short that when opponents try to go toe to toe with him, his shots land first giving him the advantage. Pacquiao won’t be able to do that with the elusive Mayweather.

Mayweather won’t be there to be hit, he will give Manny Pacquiao so many angles and make him miss. Clottey was able to touch Manny when he threw punches, now picture Floyd Mayweather in that ring against Pacquiao; it would be a beautiful display of boxing mastery. Floyd Mayweather Jr. would be painting a picture, Pacquaio’s face would be the canvas, and Floyd’s fist the paintbrush.
              Cory Spinks....?

When has Floyd fought a slick fighter? And, no Judah is not slick he is flashy but not slick.

Sasakul was a slicker fighter than Corley. I think Chop Chop was just as slick as JMM.

I thought Cotto was a lil slick in his last fight. He was ducking and weaving. Looked better than ever IMO

Im out...but since these cowards ducked my question...I'll go ahead and kill any of this b.s. of pac ducking slick fighters

Tim Austin and Mark Johnson- Both fought at 118, a division pac never competed at and was to big to drop down to.

Junior Jones-Him and Pac were never in the same division at the same time

Freddie Norwood-By the time Manny was at 126, Freddie was on a 3 year plus hiatus from boxing

Kevin Kelley-not slick and completely shot when pac got to 126.

Joan Guzman-Real talk Guzman is not slick, Ali funeka thought you that and will again show you when they fight for the second time. He only look slick against slow ass humberto soto.

Zaheer Raheem-Him an Pac weren't even in the same weight class. Pac had just gotten to 130, so to move up to 135, especially after a loss at 130, is ****in retarted. I can't believe people try to spin this as a Pac duck. IF he would have fought him, people would cry that he didn't avenge his loss and was ducking Morales.

Nate Cambell-dude is not slick at all. Only thing is he is african american. If he is slick then so is Cotto, Barrera, and others.

Paulie Malignaggi-dude aint slick one bit whats so ever. You don't get hit as much as he does to be considered slick. If slow ass Juan Diaz, who is even slower at 138, can hit he flush repeatedly, you are not slick

Tim Bradley-again this dude is not slick and is only African American. Also his only win was over Junior Witter at the time, and was basically a no body at 140 lbs when Pac fought Hatton. Hatton was the Ring champ and #1 guy, so why in the hell would you pick bradly over him?

Shane Mosely- Dude ain't slick at all

He had his chance against Casamayor and Johnston, but in the words of Floyd Sr "Floyd wasn't ready for a slick southpaw".

I still to this day people claim pac has ducked this style, when Mayweather's team came out and stated this. When has team Pac ever said anything like this?
