Betting odds mean little, Douglas was a 42-1 underdog I believe. How was Tito expected to beat Hopkins?: he wasnt going to ko him, he wasnt going to outbox him either. He was hurt at jmw and now his expected to take punches friom a big MW?

Even in his losses his fights has been so close, never really beat up, and you could make a case for him to have won his fights he has lost (calzaghe, Taylor etc.)
What great fighters has he beat , according to you?

The Mugabi win was a great win, Mugabi career ended due to being messed up in a car crash. No one is praising Hagler here either

Wright looked great in his fights before he faced Hopkins, throwing over 1000 punches before he faced Hopkins, and was ranked high pound for pound. Oscar may not have belong in the middleweight but, still a good win at age 39
If its so easy to move up why didnt Hopkins do it sooner, what was keeping him that division

His Hearns win is similar to Hopkins win over Tito, but Hearns is the more accomplished fighter. Either way if a fighter isnt willing to move up himself he shouldnt expect others to do so either. Hagler was called out by Spinks

When you lost to most of the best fighters you have ever faced then it does become a issue, especially with people here claiming he is ATG 50, I would place McCallum above Hopkins any day

Another way of looking at it is Bernard Hopkins hasn't lost decisively since 1993.

Think about that for a second.

Since 1993 he never got beat down, never took a beating in his career, never even been cut in a fight.

For a man that's been a pro for 22 years, that is absolutely phenomenal.

Name me a fighter who boxed as a pro for 22 years that can say the same.

He lost to Taylor twice. Then he lost to Calzaghe.

You are leaving out Trinidad, Winky, and Pavlik?
Bro, Trinidad was a WW, Hop fought him at 160.
Winky was a LMW, Hop fought him at 170.
Pavlik was a MW, Hop fought him at 170.

Hop is the most overrated piece of **** in the sport. Fight Dawson or get the **** out of this sport.

i'm not gon argue the fights again its been over and over...i had Hop winnen the first one tho basicly due to the fact he was the champ and to b the champ u gotta beat the champ..dont feel Taylor clearly did that...however based on that thinking i have to admit that Taylor was the winner of the second fight due to the fact they did give him the first one..and Hop did not do enough that fight both tho i feel were close..but in the end its Taylor the victor

Trinidad was a 160 pound CHAMPION when Bernard Hopkins fought him. So nice try. And let's not forget his reign at 154.

You act as if Trinidad never grew into his body. If it weren't for hopkins, trinidad would have been the unified MW champ of the world.

Pavlik was a MW, Hop fought him at 170.
It was a catchweight. Hopkins moved down 5 pounds and pavlik went up four pounds from his fight with taylor at 166.

Weight wasn't an issue as they are basically the exact same size (like twins). Hopkins style beat pavlik, not weight.

Jack Loew: “Kelly can get down to 163 with no problem, but the last three pounds are murder. We’re all but chopping off body parts."

Kelly Pavlik: “It’s hard for me to make 160,” he acknowledged. “With the added weight, I was able to train harder and refuel my body. My energy level is sky high. I won’t be drained. There willl be more snap on my punches because I’ll have fresh legs. I love it.”

Hop is the most overrated piece of **** in the sport.
Then you obviously do not understand boxing very well or it's history.
