He doesn't suck, but he is awful on the eye, and not exactly an eilite, he just sort of hangs around, never seems to go away.

Still he gets unwarrented hate, to me he's just a solid pro doing his job, he doesn't talk much and tries his best, it's hard for me to disrespect that.

He doesn't suck. His style is just the most boring thing I've ever seen.

Oh also, Steve bunce said that Ruiz is only one of 4 fighters to have 12 consecutive h/w title fights without getting stopped.

              Ali
              Louis
              Holmes
              Ruiz

Ok, so Ruiz may not have faced the same level of opponent but still, thats nothing to sneer at imo.

I remember thinking he was going to be a big star in boxing when i was younger but he never really live up to that imo!!! He was good enough to become champion of the world though!!!

I cant recall the 1st fight i saw of his, i do remember thinking he had an abundance of ability but then he got iced in 17 seconds by David Tua and i though thats it for him but he showed alot of heart to come back and win a HW title!!!

So i think he is a very good fighter!!!

some even say lennox lewis ducked him when he vacated one of his titles instead of giving ruiz his mandatory shot...I say the payday wasn't worth it to lennox finacially at that point of his career.
