This is including if he beats Haye and Jones also.

    Hopkins's resume of wins.
    John David Jackson
    Glen Johnson
    Simon Brown
    Felix Trinidad (40-0)
    Oscar De La Hoya
    Antonio Tarver
    Ronald Wright
    Kelly Pavlik
    David Haye
    Roy Jones Jr

Thats a damn impressive resume of wins. And Conn's is no way much better.

With all due respect to Bernard, his best wins are over guys coming up in weight.

    Conn's resume of wins

    Tony Zale
    Gunnar Barlund
    Lee Savold
    Al McCoy
    Gus Lesnivich
    Solly Krieger
    Melio Bettina
    Teddy Yarosz
    Young Corbett III
    Vince Dundee
    Fritzie Zivic

This is a much better resume compiled during a time when there were far less weight classes and no paper titles.

I never said Conn was way better my man, but his resume far outshines Hops even if he beats Roy and Haye.

Well Im not a big Johnson guy but when you are Top 3 in a division with as much history as Heavyweight has that would most likely mean you are a Top 10 fighter.

      1. Ali

      2. Louis

      3. Johnson

7 year reign, 14 title defences and retired champion. Monzon is a lock top 20
Griffith and Napoles were both ATF welter weights, so you wont hold that against Monzon, but will hold it against Hopkins?

Side note there isnt a Middleweight Id pick to beat a Prime Hopkins other then Robinson. Not counting Jones ofcourse.

Where do some of you guys come up with this stuff? You act like there were only a few dozen fighters in history and that anything before the 80's is irrelevant. Good God!!

Hopkins disagree with you. He thinks Monzon would beat him and he thinks a fight with Hagler would be a toss up fight.

No idea, but certainly not top 10. I've never actually constructed a top 50 or 100 but just thinking about it, I could come up with 10 more deserving. Every list I've ever seen has him in the top 10 but like Hopkins, really didn't fight in a strong era, Langford was a better fighter, and a lot of his wins came to smaller opponents(like HOP again!). Ketchel is one of his best wins yet the size difference was huge. Just using the eye test of all the gritty film that I could get my hands on, there is no doubt that Foreman, Frazier, or maybe even Norton could ice him. Yet, Jack is always ranked the 3rd greatest heavy of all time.

Well Hops is very respectful of the past legends. Monzon would be a much closer fight then Hagler-Hopkins would be. I think Haglers come forward brawling , aggresive style is perfect for a Fast Prime Hopkins defensive first, counter punching, semi-aggressive style.

Hopkins title reign at MW can be compared to Calzaghes title reign, and people know I dont like Calzaghe...but Hopkins faced the better fighters obviously and he lost to some. Can you name a single HOF prime fighter Hopkins faced and beat his size or bigger? Hopkins started his career at Cruiser, dropped down to middleweight and then fought smaller fighters, and even though I rate Hopkins higher than Calzaghe atleast Calzaghe fought undefeated prime fighters his own size like Lacy and Kessler (Good wins at that time) Hopkins at Middleweight's best win is Glen Johnson and Felix Trinidad.

I give Hopkins credit for the Johnson, Tarver, Prime Jones Jr, Taylor and Calzaghe fights. He also faced fighters his size but the fact is he is 2-4 in those fights.

Marvin Hagler fought all up and coming fighters, Hopkins has yet to face Dawson who has been calling him out for time. Hagler fought a BEAST in John Mugabi, avenged two of his early losses by knockout, yes he beat Roberto Duran and Thomas Hearns who were smaller but are you seriously telling me Oscar and Tito wins were better? Hearns and Duran are rated in most Top 15-20 ATG lists, Oscar and Tito barely make Top 40-50 ATG lists...Hearns did better after he lost to Hagler and Tito was getting outboxed by Winky Wright. btw I rate Hagler in the top 25 but I rate Duran higher...how do you rate Hagler?
