Hardcore people knew Margarito too. Again Margarito at the time was longest reigning title holder, had the best WW resume at the time and was the ranked ahead of Judah. Not bad for a nobody right?

Fact is really not everybody was clamoring for that fight anymore when Zab lost to Baldomir. I was eager to see that fight but when Zab lost it proved he could not beat Floyd. It proved he was mental midget and very incosistent. It should of been a great win for Floyd but Zab loosing to a journeyman took that great win away.
ok, my fault with the date...things blur at this point in my life with school n all. but i definitely remember ppl on hbo and ppl on espn talking about floyd fighting etiher judah or baldomir. there wasnt any mention of Margarito in that mix. the sad fact is that margs didnt get that much respect at the time because he hadnt beat any big name. judah was a big name and baldomir had beaten him.

By how much did it do better. And, I think Margarito numbers would of done better than both. That is why Floyd was guranteed double to fight Marg after Floyd beat Judah.

If we going by big name fine, but then lets remember that when we mentioned Pac fighting Hatton instead of Bradley, or fighting Cotto instead of Shane, or Oscar or Morales instead of Raheem.

hahaha in the end, I wanted to let it be know what was going on back then and what fights people were asking for. I am tired of hearing people bash Floyd for his WW career. Who cares how different people had their WW ranks back then, every one was asking for one fight at WW. Floyd beat 2 top WW's and thats the end of it. No one cared about Margarito.

Margarito wouldn't have done better than Judah or Baldomir at all. Margarito wasn't even known.

How can Arum guaranteed 8 million when he wouldn't even guaranteed ayweather $20 million to fight Oscar De La Hoya or even 7 million for the likes of Cotto and Hatton. And the fact he owned Mayweather money from the Judah fight

I cant even remember ratings for this same month last year. But if you followed floyd back then you know that there was one fight the people wanted and that was against the best welterweight in the world. No one was saying Margarito was the best and no one cared about him he was fighting on ESPN, no matter how many bum mandatories he beat. WBA, IBF, WBC, RING welterweight belts>>>>7 bum mandatories. Carlos upset Zab when people thought they were going to get Zab vs Mayweather next, Mayweather fought both of them.
The Judah fight should not have been an option anymore after he lost to a journeyman.

You know what Floyd should of done fougth Margarito the #1 rank guy and have the champ(Baldomir) fight the #2(Judah) in a rematch and then fight the winner. But, come on really all you guys as Floyd fans want to act like Floyd was not getting flack for fighting Judah. There was a reason why he was getting so much flack, why the boxing establishments didn't want that fight.
