    700,000 PPVs is impressive considering...

    1. Pacquiao is a non-american

    2. The fight did not have any 24/7 series and was barely promoted

    3. Clottey was almost unknown (Almost because he had some exposure against Cotto, Judah, Margarito all three who have a good to solid fan base)

The numbers are impressive IMO however 1 million people paid to watch floyd fight a lightweight which was largely considered a tune-up/joke bout by people, whats more impressive is it was going head to head with a UFC PPV Event.

Mayweather-Mosley easily doubles 700,000 pay per views. Prediction for Mayweather-Mosley PPVs: 1.5-1.7 million buys

I think the numbers are impressive due to the lack of real promotion for the fight.

You could've talked about this in one of the many threads here in the first page.

Obviously, the bulk of PPV is in America and both Floyd and Mosley are Americans. I wouldn`t be surprised at higher ratings even in spite of the apparent boycott of this event by Pacquiao fans. But who knows...

People posting in this thread... and people who want to see Mayweather-Pacquiao happen. Negotiations are a big part of it, and thats where the discussion about PPV numbers comes in.
