Imagine if Shaq would have picked up a pair of boxing gloves as a child instead of a basketball. No one knows what would have happened. Same goes for alot of professional basketball, football, and baseball players. They are all very athletic and if they put the time and training into boxing as they did their respective sports, then who knows what they may have become in the boxing ring.
if lebron chose boxin instead of basketball.....

Same thing goes for all the huge athletic guys in other sports in every other country. Maybe after our discussion we can watch a unicorn *** a leprechaun, oh wait, that's an imaginary scenario too.Imagine if Shaq would have picked up a pair of boxing gloves as a child instead of a basketball. Sure. The problem is there are some americans that think theirs is the only country where the athletes have other options, that's where they are wrong. What if Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were boxers? Or Federer and Nadal? What if Alexander Karelin had boxed instead of being a wrestler? Noone knows, but using that excuse to try to diminish other boxers' success is pathetic.Imagine if Shaq would have picked up a pair of boxing gloves as a child instead of a basketball. I guess Ivan calderon being considerably smaller than most of his opponents is a vision. And his skills are just a myth too. And I guess him being as short as he is , keeping his opponents at the end of his jab to at times makes him a huge ******. Being tall is an advantage yes. But where is it written that a shorter person doesnt have a chance at beating a taller person. You can make more of a claim that Valuel uses his size more. Wlad is not unique or special but he knows what to do in the ring to get a win. And that is skills.wlad would be just another European fighter thats gets pwnd by an american, but since he has the luxury of being soooo big, he beats more skilled fighters with his height and size advantage alone..... wlad cannot beat his older brother, simply because hes not bigger than him.... lol at all the fools who actually think wlad had top notch SKILLS.... this is a myth, because being able to keep someone 6 inches shorter than u at bay with a jab is only hard for a ****** lmao... wlad is nowhere close to the skill level of anyone top 10 p4p in the paat 3 decades!
i must admit tho, he is in shape (like most fighters) -_-....
and he uses his height well (thats not a skill)
if eddie chambers was 6'6, he would have beat wlads ass!.... that is allComment

lebron is playing successfully basketball in the nba, he is more known & richer than any active boxer right now, it was a smart move to play bball as a kid.
earning millions of $ without getting hit in the head, what do u want more ?
thats also one of the reasons why i dont understand how some ppl here on Boxingscene can discredit so many boxers.Comment

Don't you think it's just as likely that Lebron would be a glass jawed bum that Wlad or Vitali would knock out in a round or two? You can't say if "insert tall athletic sportsman from random sport here" was a boxer, they would be good. Who knows?Comment

I agree. I'm an American, but by no means do I down play any other countries athletes. Do I enjoy watching the Klitchko's fight? No I don't. Not because I don't respect them or their style, but they have no competition and every knows exactly how the fight are going to go. And as for Wlads style, it's exactly how emanual steward has all his fighters fight, when they are taller than everyone else in the division. I could care less if they don't take risks. Why give your opponent his only opportunity? Anyway, got off the subject at hand. They're great athletes all over the world and who knows what would have happened if any of them chose boxing instead of their respective sports.Sure. The problem is there are some americans that think theirs is the only country where the athletes have other options, that's where they are wrong. What if Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were boxers? maybe you should ask the TS as he brought it upComment
Just because someone is a good athlete doesn't mean he would succeed in any sport he chooses.
