He's getting a title shot and a payday that he hasn't had in a while. It isn't much, but it's not like the fight is going to be rescheduled just like that. Godfrey should take the fight.

Godfrey doesnt really have a choice. If he doesnt fight, then per the IBF rules he's out and Cunningham vs Troy Ross gets made instead.

Yeah, but you cant just say he "should take the fight" without knowing the details of the entire situation, my man...

Yes, I hope Troy Ross, who is definitely better than Godfrey, receives the title shot.

He has a chance of winning against Cunningham, Godfrey did not.

3 days? No big deal. Unless Godfrey went out and started drinking and drugging as soon as he found out the fight was off.

You'd really have to be in camp with someone before a fight, see them every day and know the situation to say whether it is a "big deal" or not, that's all...

^ that is a fair statement, as you do train Godfrey right? But I have to ask, this close to fight time (relatively speaking with the fight being the 26th)

how intense is the kind of training you do? and I won't even guess the intensity level of the training as I have no idea.

We were told on Wednesday the fight was off...then we found out Friday night at around 10 pm that the fight was moved to Chicago...thats was more than 72 hours we went thinking that the fight was completely off...that's 3 runs and 3 training sessions (including two strong days of sparring) that we missed outright...and our chief sparring partner was leaving Saturday morning and wouldn't be available anymore...so we are talking three IMPORTANT days of work that were missed...you can't get that back...and, yes, we were still far enough out from the fight that the work would have been stressful, definitely...
