"I am excited that Shane Mosley and I are willing to take these tests to ensure a fair fight on May 1," said Mayweather. "I just want to show the world that boxing is a clean sport and it is my hope that all fighters will take a similar stance and responsibility which reflects sportsmanship at the highest level and sets a new standard for safety in boxing."

"I think the testing program is a great idea and I did not hesitate for a minute about agreeing to it," said Mosley. "Let's hope that the rest of the boxing world follows Floyd's and my example."

Props to both Floyd and Mosley, they are setting a great example.

hell no this isnt like over weight situations where fighters will have the option of continuing with the fight. can you imagine one of em testing positive and the other says "ok you know what ill still go on with the fight even if he is on steroids"

actually, that would be epic media stuff right there in the days leading up to the fight while its confirmed one of the fighters will be fighting in the ring while on steroids..

If they don't use this procedure in the future but only in certain fights it is contracted for both fighters (like in this case), and a boxer tests positive, who exactly is it that is supposed to implement the 2 year ban on a boxer that tests positive? What is the normal ban (in most states) according to their commisions?

A 2 year ban for (any) steroid use makes it seem like Margorito got a way with attempted homicide.

Biggest tool the WADA and OSDT employs is year round and out of competition testing. Neither will be implemented so all we'll know is that they're clean for these 2 months. Also more advanced tests require an athlete's biological profile to be created for comparison. No way to know an individual's body chemistry is abnormal if you don't have a baseline to compare to.

No, he knows exactly what he's doing. He's just a pure hater, and why anyone ever replies to him and some of his butt-buddies is beyond me.
