You've got a point I guess. But hell, HBO wouldn't even televise a Clottey-Williams fight for some reason or another. They had an agenda. Williams had to move up in weight because he just couldn't get any meaningful fights at 147, and it has somewhat silenced the people who claim he's too big for that weight class.
Williams can't sell tickets. That's why HBO doesn't support him unless he has a "name" opponent. Clottey is no "name". He's a punching bag, lol.
If Cotto fought Paul Williams, it would get a lot of people off his back including me that knows that he has never fought for a title that's not vacant. Even though Williams doesn't hold a title at the moment, if Cotto beat him I would go on hush about the vacant title argument because that's the only time that Cotto displayed a blatant case of winning a title without earning it when he beat Michael Jennings when we all knew Williams would've been glad to fight him. I actually can't give Cotto any **** for beating Quintana because he was highly regarded at the time and went on to give Williams his first loss.
