If the same Kessler that showed up against Ward is back, Froch is getting ko'ed. Froch doesn't have the skills and physical assets that Ward has to be able to rough him up. No movement (to get out and get in), no foot work, no defense, no head movement, slow as hell, an offense begging to get countered,... His best chance, as you said, would be to rough Kessler up, but doing so, he's so wide open I think Kessler will be able to counter him. Kessler's best moments against Calzaghe came when he countered a happy-trigger Joe.
I believe Kessler has a good chin. He was taking punishment against Ward, and at no moment he appeared hurt or stunned (not that I've seen for sure). In fact, the only time I've seen him hurt was by a punch to the stomach by Calzaghe.

.....Kessler showed a vulnerable side that plays right into Froch's way of working!!
