illegal trunks?

In many of the recent interviews made to Trinidad Sr. he states that after viewing the replay of the fight he thinks that the trunks wear by Winky were illegal, he states that the trunk belt line was to big and thick...And they used it as a form to block Trinidad body punches...

Can trunks be illegal? What’s your opinion on Trinidad Sr. claim? Just an excuse or a valid point?

Is that photoshopped? I thought his trunks were extra padded, but he's not supposed to hit there anyhow, is he?

EDIT: He's tightening his stomach there, or it's a weird angle. Look at the fight itself, they aren't THAT padded.

I posted that last photo some days ago. I think that his trunks were big but I don't know if big enough to be illegal. DLH really had some illegal ones against Vargas. Anyway, I think Trinidad lost because his game plan was not the best. He did some wrong things, which I mentioned on another thread.

I know that he didn't loose cuz of the trunks, but can trunks be considered illegal? Are there any rules on how the trunks can be wear or made?

damn THE WORDING IS HUGE ON HIS TRUNKS..it covers up his naval..although the trunks are big I dont think the result would ahve bene different if he wore something different it may have bene closer but not close enough

Most refs allow fighters to get away with hitting high on the belt line. In the case of Winky's trunks, Tito was getting lowblow calls from punches that would of been legal body shots had the trunks been at his waistline.

ya know what? Wright got them trunks especially THICK made bcuz he know Tito would try sumthing sneaky, ehem low blows.

Or if Winky heard this news, his comeback would be:

" Ya well, Tito's trunks was way too ****in small" LOL!
