I wouldn't call him a coward but his actions are of a coward in the ring...he didn't want to risk getting KOd.....so he basically fought not to get KOd.stfu! Clottey is a coward. He is a public figure. Us boxing fans pay his fkin bills! We have a right to call a spade a spade he is a coward and so are all you pac fans! Yes Yes that was a bit ignorant...but i get upset at how pac fans blatantly deny facts as long as it makes their little hero look good.Comment

he basically fought the clottey way of fighting.....
did you not see the cotto fight?
dude's just not an "active" fighter, especially when punches are coming at him. his instincts are to "cover up," then retaliate when he finds an opening. manny was firing at him all night, and when he finished covering up, he fired back.
if i'm not mistaken, most people EXPECTED manny to win the fight by simply outworking clottey. that's what happened.

Why are people all up in arms about Clottey's performance?. He has always done the same thing; he keeps a tight guard until he see's an opportunity to counter and then he goes on the offensive. Unfortunately that's his only style of fighting no matter the circumstances of the fight. Against PacMan he unsurprisingly did just that. To no one's surprise PacMan was so much faster than Clottey he couldn't;t effectively counter Manny so he spent all day waiting for a chance to counter and it never came. Also PacMan's seemingly infinite well of stamina let him just barrage Clottey with loads of punches. Clottey ended up doing a fine job defensively against PacMan he just never found a moment to counter which led to the lopsided showing we saw. Why people all of a sudden think Clottey would lose to all sorts of other WW is shocking. Unless you have fast hands and an infinite well of energy (P.Williams cough) your not going to be able to do what PacMan did to Clottey.
Why anyone was surpised/upset by what happened is a mystery to me.Comment

thats some nice shiet right hereI been in the ring and been massively outclassed, just months into training I was sparring with an all England champion so I can sympathise but at the same time you go out on your shield! I've been hit so hard that my vision went blac and white and so hard that my ears have rung but still I came forward because its ok to try and fail, if you don't try then you have failed already

couldn't have said it better myself... there was no option B at all. Joshua seemed like a sparring partner out thereNah, I'm a fan of Clottey, but I gotta disagree. Clottey made absolutely zero attempt at trying to disrupt Manny's rhythm, and had no "Plan B", or Plan C" for that matter. Clottey didn't train for Manny Pacquiao - he just trained for a fight. A fighter needs to make things happen instead of waiting for chances that aren't going to come.Comment

Shut up man
they know what they are getting into
when you fight like clottey then you are a coward
not willing to engage or take a chance
its because of us that they are getting paid as much as they are
we want our moneys worth
with theexception of a very few most boxers are in it for a lack of a better option
they dont have the mental toughness to pursue a college degree let a lone put in the work to earn it
its not easy
just like its not easy to hit the gym and get down in weight and make sacrifices
to them its easier than educating themselves
and to me and a lot others its easier to hit the books
so just because they fight in a and we dont gives them the right to call us *******?
then I guess eveyone is a coward with the exception of our troops in Iraq fighting a pointless warComment

I said it before the fight that it was up to Joshua if he wanted
to win or not. He had the defense going on but not the technical
mind set to switch it up with the offense. I just can't believe that
he would shell up like that in such a big fight and opportunity for
himself and let Manny wail away on him for 12 rounds? If Joshua
feels that his style will win him big fights then he is sadly mistaken.
He has lost all the big fights and the Pac fight being the biggest
opportunity for him and he blew it. He didn't even put up a strong
effort. Joshua needs to reavaulate his career and do some major
changes or else retire from the sport if he is just going to continue
to perform like that in big fights.Comment
