Yes, I actually think the fight is in favour of Floyd by 60-40. If he fights Pacquiao IMHO that fight is 70-30 in favour of Floyd and I'm a fan of both but calling it just how I see it. Styles make fights...Morales and Marquez bothered Pacquiao by counter punching with that lead right hand...Floyd is the best at doing that and he is better at counter period and he does it with speed and accuracy.
I think your right about Shane but Shane contradicts himself, remember after the Cotto fight was over and the scorecards were announced he admitted that he lost the fight, but a few months later he said if the fight was held somewhere else he would have got the decision and that he atleast deserved a draw. Shane is as dangerous in the 2nd half of the fight IMO, in the Cotto fight he respected his power but later on in the 2nd half started engaging more as Cotto got tired IMO he even hurt Cotto (Remember when they were wiping the ring floor when Cotto got hurt? Co-incidence? I think not), even in the Mayorga fight he was cautious of Ricardo overhand right and that fight was a bit awkward until Mosley KO'd him in the last minute of the last round, point is he wouldnt be concerned about the power of Mayweather Jr. like he was with these bigger fighters, IMO he would go for the kill and do whatever he can to hurt Floyd because he thinks he can take Floyds punches.
In the Margarito fight shane didnt hurt him the most in rounds 6-9 once he figured him out, and in the Vargas fight the first one was competitive till Mosley made a freak out of his face in the 2nd half of the fight and then stopped him in 6 rounds in the rematch. The point is Shane Mosley is a 12 round fighter he fights every minute of every round...his workrate is decent 774 punches in 12 rounds with Cotto, over 500 punches thrown in 9 rounds with Margarito, 601 thrown in 12 vs Collazo. Floyds other opponent usually get tired, but Mosley doesn't stop throwing and he has speed, strength and a very good chin.Comment

Yo Parady you down to do a 2-1 odd 150k bet that Dirrell beats Abraham?... my 150k to your 300k?Yes, I actually think the fight is in favour of Floyd by 60-40. Rewritten history at it's finest. Oscar had the 154 pound title and looked impressive in his previous fight. Hatton "thrashed?" Hatton won a close fight. He also knocked Collazo down in the first. "Fringe fighter"? Collazo is a former world champion and top welterweight. It's amazing to see the depths some people will go to discredit Mayweather in some way to push their agenda.Comment

How is it a "fail" thread when I'm just asking a question?
I'm no big fan of either fighter - the avatar I have is taking the piss, in case you can't work it out FFS - but Ping Ping has fought better comp of late.
And Parody, good to read your thoughts man. I'll tell you a story about Mosley-Vargas.... we get fights like that free over here (ain't it disgusting that Ping Ping doesn't have enough UK fans to justify a PPV?) and before they showed Mosley-Vargas II they replayed the first one. But I'd fallen asleep, because it was late - I'll have to stay up till 6am tonight - and didn't realise.
So I spent twenty minutes thinking "wow, what a concidence... Shane has closed his eye like he did in the first one. He even seems to be throwing the same punches."
Dumb ass old me.

Dan Rafael clearly doesn't like Mayweather as you know, but even him and the ESPN team scored it 116-112 for Floyd.
Most people had that score as well including the HBO Team (Die hard Oscar nuthuggers), Boxingscene, etc. Ive watched the fight too many times and honestly I cant see how Oscar won more than 4 rounds in that fight. He simply didn't land, most of the shots were blocked and he was getting countered and outclassed by Mayweather. Floyd landed almost twice the punches Oscar did, Oscar was throwing a lot of punches, and he threw more punches than Floyd but Oscar landed 21% of almost 600 thrown punches.
Out of the first 5 rounds, the only round Oscar won WAS Round 2 IMO. Round 6 could be scored either way as Floyd landed more punches and was more accurate but Oscar threw more and won the last quarter of that round, so i gave Oscar round 6 even though it was a very close round.
I also gave Round 7 to Oscar as he was busier but still not as effective. His workrate won him that round and he landed some good jabs. After this round oscar had stopped using his jab because his jab was getting countered by floyds right hands.
Everyone unanimously agrees Floyd won from rounds 8-11, they werent close rounds.
As for the final round it was close but Floyd won about 2 minutes 30 seconds of that round and Oscar won the last 30 seconds when they traded (Floyd could have chosen not too but he did, and Oscar got the better of it.
Most people had the score 107-102 after 11 rounds, Round 6 and 12 were close rounds that I gave to Oscar which he won based on his workrate, and round 12 he won because of the last minute exchange, floyd was winning most of that round until the last minute he decided to trade with Oscar and Floyd didn't get the better of it. If Floyd didnt trade in that last minute (He was just having fun) the fight would have been scored 117-111.
Can you tell me which rounds in your opinion Oscar won? For me its Round 2, Round 6, Round 7 and Round 12 (Close)
I know the overall punchstats have nothing to do with how the fight is scored round by round but look at this, its pretty impressive:
Total Punches thrown by De La Hoya: 587
Total Punches landed by De La Hoya: 122
Connect Percentage for De La Hoya: 21%
Total Punches thrown by Mayweather: 481
Total Punches landed by Mayweather: 207
Connect Percentage for Mayweather: 43%
Power Punches thrown by De La Hoya: 341
Power Punches landed by De La Hoya: 82
Connect Percentage for De La Hoya: 24%
Power Punches thrown by Mayweather: 241
Power Punches landed by Mayweather: 138
Connect Percentage for Mayweather: 57%

If you see the round by round punch stats Mayweather has the edge in 9 rounds by landing more punches in each, sometimes doubling the land percentage compared to oscars...Oscar was punching air most of the time and floyd made him miss alot and then countered him.
Like I said, the only error made that night was by one of the judge. Oscar didn't stop using the jab after round 7 because he was tired, it was the fact he was getting countered and Mayweather adjusted once he figured him out.
Annie IMHO I think Mosley is a tougher fight for Floyd than Pacquiao. Floyd is a stylistic nightmare for him IMO, A counter puncher better than JMM whos best punch is the lead right hand (The punch pacquiao hates the most). Mosley is stronger, got fast hands, has knocked out bigger fighters, and he wont respect Floyds power like he respected Cotto and Mayorgas, he was a bit careful there.
excellent post......any1 who actually can score a fight knows oscar wn 4 rds MAX!!! I had him winning 3..........Comment
