Call Me A Racists But Arum Cant Promote Black Fighters

Thats pretty good I'll say, Floyd makes a point to let the world know that every fighter makes their best payday with him. If thats his way of saying he is fair at the negotiation table then thats to his credit.Comment

Ain't nobody making a case for nobody. I could care less who promotes who. All that matters, is the fighter and the trainer. Like I said before, it's not about defending Arum, it's putting the blame on Clottey as well. Look at Mosley. Arum don't promote him. He's the main man at WW but has he ever been a big name guy? He's fought all the best opponents, but if you asked regular people on the street who he was in 2009, not many would know. To me, that's the fighters fault.Comment

Truth is, there is simply not much hype around Clottey. The mainstream doesn't know who he is and the dedicated fans know he is nothing special and simply can't win the fight vs Pacquiao. Who would root for a guy who lost vs Cotto whom Pacquiao destroyed? I mean, it's the wrong fight for everyone except for Clottey himself who has a chance at his last big stage pay check. And with the su****ion around Pacquiao, he's not very hot right now considering everyone who has anything to lose (people with 0's or good solid reps) won't want to fight Pacquiao if he continues to deny the most up-to-date PED testing methods.Yeah I know in the past he worked with Hearns, Ali, Leonard, and thats great but I know that those guys were damn near self made legends. Ali and Leonard were popular right out of the Olympics and Hearns won respect with the way he was knocking muths out so he had a lot of buzz already.
But lately, and I mean the pass 20 years, Arum has really fallen off with Black fighters. Here he has Pac vs Clottey but I'll be damned if there has been any promotional material, marketing etc...directed at Black audiences. I mean Clottey is from Ghana and I'm sure they are excited in his homeland but sheesh, he can be promoted in African American markets as well. What harm is in that, is Arum just really that cheap? This will sound racist but I actually predict a majority white crowd in Dallas. Not majority asian or Filipino, or African, but White. That, if you ask me, is the target audience of this fight. Conservative whites at that.
Even with Floyd, Arum truly failed to see his potential, Floyd stated that he should be making De La Hoya kind of money and Arum laughed at him, so Floyd goes solo and does just that. This more so than anything else showed me that Black fighters need to stay away from Bob Arum.
Clottey may not realize it cause he's making some money with Top Rank, but he is being used in this fight with Pac, and I know he could be making more and having a more fulfilling career with another promoter. He is going into the biggest fight of his life as an unknown, that aint right. He should of been built up properly for this moment.Comment

I agree with that. You know GDP also was disapointed when Maidana beat Ortiz, and if Martiez were Mexican, I certain he wouldn't find it hard to get fights at all.Comment

its not because doesnt want to, its because black fighters have little fan base, look at mayweather, the best fighter right now, he has to have a decent opponent or he'll have people leaving the damn arena before the fight is over...Comment

Uhh, I dont know about that, Floyd is a bonafide draw, period.Comment

After the Marquez fight, that's a bit of an exaggeration. In fact, were he to beat Mosley and Pac., Mayweather vs almost any champion would due no less than 750k.Comment
