True, but Shane is something of a bore anyway, but I do believe Don King, with all of his charisma, could of made Shane seem more exciting outside the ring. Basically I've been to King press conferences and when he doesn't have fighters with great personalities, Don makes up for that himself, he can sell. Arum literally relies on his fighters race and nationality to sell fights. Thats why, like I said, if you Black, don't bother with Arum.

why doesn't Paul Williams, Shane Mosley and Bradley have followers? If you're Mexican or Puerto Rican you don't have to promote yourself like Mayweather to get a following. Cotto and Mosley are boring outside of boxing, one has a huge fanbase, the other isn't even a ppv fighter.

Arum promoted espn Top Rank boxing for 15 years and there were all groups of fighters he handled. For years during and before that he handled many fighters of all races and nationalities.

African Americans have so many sports stars to choose from with Tiger Woods, Lebron, Adrian Peterson etc. That might be part of the reason why the black community might not support boxing as much anymore. Their loyalties lie in other sports.

People tend to support fighters of their ethnicity. Hispanics probably succeed more in boxing than other sports they participate in. So they support their boxers really well. Boxing was dead in the Philippines before Pacquiao resurrected it. People support sports and stars their people are good at.

Arum must know this.

Mayweather is American but he can't wave a flag and have an instant ethnic following like other hispanic fighters. But Mayweather can hype a fight well by talking a lot of **** and being a good villian.
