In truth thats fine, but exactly what Blacks are he talking about?? You have to help me out right now cause I can't even think of a Black fighter he promotes other than Clottey right now. Thing is, I dont have a problem with him promoting Mexicans or Pacquiao, thats great, its his job, but when you got some Black fighters in your stable, put that same effort into them as well, he clearly doesn't.

arum is not a ****** man. its unfair to say, but arum has chosen to promote fighters that have a better chance of obtaining loyal fan bases. that is his niche.
nationality is a huge promotional tool.
Yeah and he should of done that with Floyd, African American's are a loyal audience as well when a fighter is being promoted and marketed to them. Floyd marketed himself to the growing hip hop generation/culture and bamm he has a following.

I'm fairly certain that Arum isn't racist towards blacks. If African Americans supported their fighters as much as Hispanics and Filipinos, he would have no problems promoting them more.

Wow, are you that dense? Clottey has had plenty of world title opportunities. He, himself, messed it up. I don't care for Arum. All promoters are snakes. That's in their DNA. But you can't solely blame Arum is all I'm saying.

for whatever reason it seems harder to promote black fighters. look at tim bradley, chad dawson, shane mosley (never been a stand alone draw despite his success), paul williams, berto, even RJJ and pea at their peaks werent huge draws.

IMO, arum noticed that trend a while back and adjusted accordingly.

The hiphop community ain't loyal man. Its all about what's hot at the moment with them. Just take 1 look at record sales. White people buy records, they support their artists. The hiphop community? Nothing but bootlegging goin on.

Well once upon a time Black fighters were the biggest draws in the sport, that time was as recently as Mike Tyson, I think Don King finally slowing down and even black balled by some networks and companies is part of the reason. Also PPV, premium cable, has put a dent in exposing Black audiences to the sport. I can say for certain, the Black audience is definitely not feeling PPV, unless its Floyd Mayweather, the reason why is simple he markets to that audience.

when it comes to boxing, i'll have to disagree with that first statement .
as for the bolded part, thats on the fighter himself. it is his persona that appeals to a certain generation. the promoter can only do so much.
for instance, if arum was promoting mosley, he couldnt tell him to start rapping or rock a fitted and iced down medallions.

But in terms of record sales at least they are aware, exposed and will seek the media. They aren't even watching boxing right now. Thing is, there are a lot of good/ about to be great Black fighters like Bradley and Alexander, it would be a shame if they cant get put on and rise in this sport like their suppose to.
