Can Wladimir Klitschko break Joe Louis's 25 title defense record?

I think he could, but has he got the time to do it when he fights 2-3 times a year?

Nah, I think he maxes out at 20 defenses. He won't hang around long enough to break the record.

Still the 20 defenses alone make him an automatic induction into the HOF.

Same. 25 defenses is too much, he'd have to fight almost 3 times per year, for the next 5 years, to do it (and win every fight of course), too difficult IMO. But yeah I think he'll get to 19-20.

No way. hasn't he only had like, 7 so far? and hes going to be 34 in a few weeks. theres juast no way i see that happening, before hes way past his prime, or gets knocked out again, which both are likely.

Even still, thats 13 more defenses. so even if he fought twice a year every year it'd take 6 years so he'd be 40 years old. just dont see it happening.

Pretty difficult when Haye makes him postpone when wants to fight (then pulls out,) then HBO makes him postpone when he wanted to fight (late last year, then doesn't televise his fight.)

That and his wouldn't be consecutive or undisputed, the way Louis' were.

Look at his brother Vitali. He's 38 and look what he's doing to the contenders his going up against. He's destroying them. If Vitali can still do it at 38, then i don't see why Wlad can't still be on top of his game in 4 years time?

Eddie Chambers will be Wlad's 8th title defense...To break the record Wlad will have to defend the title 18 more times after Chambers to make it 26 title defenses, thus breaking the record of Joe Louis (25 title defenses)

Louis made 25 title defenses in a ROW in 13 YEARS, Wladimir has made 7 in a row so far in 3 years and 4 months, Chambers will be his 8th. Wladimir on a average fights twice a year, so he would have to fight for 9 years to break that record. Even if he fights 3 times a year he would have to fight 6 years more to break it.

We're not talking about defenses in a row, just total defenses.
