SWomething you have to look at though, vitali took a few years off and came back, also only has 41 fights while wlad has 56. wlad has 251 rounds in the bank, vitali has 186. so its a different story. i also view vitali to be the less brittle brother, so to speak. wladimir relies heavily on his athleticism, vitali really doesnt.

Louis made 25 title defenses in a ROW in 13 YEARS, Wlad has made 7 in a row so far in 3 years and 4 months, Chambers will be his 8th.
To be fair, Louis was allowed to hold onto his title for 4 years without defending it, while serving his country.

Louis' consecutive streak might stand forever, but he also holds the record for defenses, period, which might not.

Fighters prime differently bro. Joe Louis was past his best at the age of 33, Tyson was past his best at the age of 31, Lennox Lewis was still at his best at the age of 37

He defended his title three times between 1942 to 1946.

            Sorry.

So in reality the 25 consecutive title defenses is a bit of a misnomer.

How can it be a title defense if you lose the title? Meaning of title defenses: After you win the title you defend it , a draw and win can be a title defense but a loss means you've failed to defend the title therefore its the end of your title defenses.

The thread starter was talking about Louis being the only man to make 25 title defenses in a ROW and if Wlad can break that record...Louis didn't lose between those 25 title defenses, Do you know what title defenses even mean man?

True, but the Heavyweight division right now is pretty easy pickings for the Klitschko brothers. Albert Sosnowski just got himself a title shot for crying out loud.

                  ???

Wlad is a two-time champion, the first time he held a title he defended succesfully 5 times, the second time 7 times, hence 12 total defenses.

Let's ask the TS, Chunk, were you talking about total defenses, or consecutive defenses?

Does Wlad have to have 25 consecutive title defenses or just 25 title defenses to break the record?

Actually the Heavyweight title was at stake against that 3-3 fighter according to the New York Athletic Commision ruling, it was an optional defense. If you want to discredit that since it was against a 3-3 fighter feel free to do so, but that is a fact.

Regardless he did defend the title for 4 years in a row, you previously implied that he didn't defend for 4 years straight.
