At the time haye was only getting money from Sentanta, a UK tv subscribing channel.

He was getting nothing from german tv etc.. and I believe no purse or very small.

When they went bust, he would have had to pay for all his expenses without any income.

Every fighter wants to make a decent amount, and if haye destroys Ruiz then he has a good chance to make good money with his next PPV after.
Which is what Haye had planned all along, I'm sure. Grab a paper belt, make some money against the WBA circle jerk, while calling out the Klitschkos to give the impression you want to fight them, then when they offer you a fight, price yourself out as Valuev did.

No way is he deserving of 50%. 40% and no TV money is the best he should hope for and would be more then he had earned or deserved.
Haye has joined another TV company and did PPV for Valuev, I don't know if Haye can sell a Ruiz fight after his last performance, but he is atleast making decent money now.

I doubt in the high millions, but a unification bout should make him a few mill imo. Wlad and him or Vitali would make 40k in germany, maybe that in the UK after a few fights.

I feel he wanted to get a big name early, expecting some decent money, but couldn't get it.

I don't think he will not fight them. In the UK he talks of them every interview.

You mean 40.000 in attendance? They would make more than that, Wlad already did 60k against Chagaev, and is fighting Chambers in a 50k stadium.

Haye dangles carrot, fans chase blindly.

If he didn't talk about them then nobody would listen to his pompous jerk off interviews.

60k was not for chagaev. I mistook 40k for 60k.

Those are impressive numbers for chambers.

                  Is it sold out?

Hitman, I know I can't change your opinion on haye, and perhaps on Haye himself can only sway you, so I will leave it at that.

I don't know, but I guess it is, I just know that the stadium has a 50k capacity.

And yes there were 60k people in attendance for Chagaev (61k IIRC).

The tickets were sold out for Haye though right?
