If you look at my previous postings (same thread) you can see that I certaintly didn't rule out Mayweather beating Pacquiao. I said that all along that if there's anybody, it would be Mayweather and his style. I am an Ali Fan since the late 70s growing up.

But your assessment of Pacquiao's improvement is almost nil. His right hooks aren't the one one (or right hand). Just the way he fights, his work habits and the usage of all angles, footwork and work rate has been multiplied together with his added new strength in his weight now.

If anyone, Pacquiao could also be Mayweather's antithesis, style-wise.

lols... *****s have so many OPINIONS when it comes to that subject
Let's be serious-why use the phrases "pac-tards" or "*****s"? It really sounds immature. I can picture preschool children using these phrases...I am a boxing fan-not a fan of a certain fighter. You will not see me with pictures of Floyd,Pac, Ako Pa Ha,or whatever lame kiddy slogans a lot of dolts use on here.Generally if I think a fighter is better than another,it is based on previous skills displayed, habits, opponents, etc etc.No need to use the "*****" word when speaking to me.
I predicted Manny to beat his last 4 fights (now Clottey as well),but I am NOT a fanatical Manny or Floyd fan.No need to lump me in a category when I appreciate fighters from many eras than just one.
By the way,my response was to a majority of supposed "fans" who judge a fighter based on bias, not history or facts or even strong theories behind them.
To see laughable suggestions that some people use, such as Manny is THE greatest of all time,etc-is the sort of logic I am opposed to....these are the people I refer to-what is your stance on this???

The point was that a broken down man which footwork wasn't his game was frustrating Pac. A fighter with footwork and speed that is his style would create a huge challenge

so who's on the double standards now!

In Boxing, anything can happen but that is a lame excuse. Pacquiao's volume/flush punches CAN probably beat Mayweather also. Mayweather's mastery of the defense is very literally an awesome sight being a boxing fan.

But a hit from those high-frequency punches can open up his defenses.

Both boxers can offset each others style. But Pacquiao is fastly improving while Mayweather slowly digressing.

I see Pacquiao's improvements with his right hand, but his weaknesses are still there. His workrate and habits have been essentially the same.He really hasn't made a vast or dramatic change like is being mentioned.A lot of people are making it sound as if he is a completely changed fighter-I just don't see it-perhaps if he went in against a different style of opponent,it may prove what you are saying.
His opponents, however, have been questionable.I think Joshua Clottey is probably more legitimate than Cotto,Hatton, and Oscar by a bit.I say this because he has not been weight drained, damaged (he is similar in that he plods at times, has a come-forward style and needs to plant his feet when he throws a punch...it is something most people will be disadvantaged in a fight with Pacquiao) and actually has a right hand. It is actually a step up compared to his previous mentioned opponents. Now saying all this,Clottey is not the "cream of the crop".I think Floyd,Shane, and a few others around the weight could give Manny a better test than the recent opponents that have been picked.

There is a video of Pac hitting the mitts and again he is right there for the right hand. Clottey leans to the left and throws a bunch of hooks up and down. He is very left foot heavy, his right hand is very straight but he doesn't turn on it cause he can't. Fast hands when he is set but Pac won't allow Clottey's slow feet to catch up

Pac biggest change was balance, he doesn't fall foward when he punches as he used to. He uses the right hook as a counter over the left hand
