During my tender age of about 7 or 8, my father brought me to the THRILLA IN MANILA fight and the rest is history. I've been a Muhammad Ali fan ever since and boxing IS the sport to watch.

Then used to watched all of his fights after that.....then the 80s with Sugar Ray, Duran, Hearns....then Hagler, Arguello, Sanchez...then now again with Pacquiao!

Thrilla in Manilla no doubt. Or even the 1st Ali Frazier fight. Of modern times, Calzaghe vs Lacy did it for me.

Some Hamed fights got me into Boxing, around the time he fought Kelly and a bit before.

Long history with the sport then. I never got to see Arguello when he was plying his trade, but have seen plenty of him since and just think he was brilliance. I saw a fair bit of Azumah Nelson in the eighties, but I think that was down to the fact that Barry McGuigan was so huge over here back then.

Bad memory for me,that one, lol. About 15 of us gathered to watch it,but instead of getting a few hours kip like everyone else,I decided to stay awake drinking and nodded off during the intros! I was well pleased when I got woken up and told What I had just missed!

I saw Leonard win the Olympic Gold medal live at the Montreal Forum with my Dad when I was seven.
