I have been around boxing (as a fighter and part-time trainer) and following the sport for about 35 years. Nothing like the atmosphere of a live fight.
Thats awesome, thats one of the biggest fights in the history of the sport and you are lucky enough to say 'I was there'. True about the live fights. If you come over to England and get the chance, try and catch a fight at the York Hall in Bethnal Green in the East end of London. Its only a small venue, but its pretty much the spiritual home of boxing here. The best nights I have ever had at the boxing is there.

That was the thing about Arturro (R.I.P), when he got hit it made him come back even harder. I was hooked after that.
      Gatti was superb to watch.

The U.K. is great for fights. My cousins tell me about watching McGuigan fight at the Kings Hall in Belfast. They said it was just electric.

The most fun I had at a fight was Matthew Hilton winning the IBF JMW title from Buster Drayton in 1987. Hilton's bodyshots sounded like a rifle being fired. Drayton was a tough SOB not to fold. They went toe to toe for 15 breathtaking rounds.

If you get a chance to see a fight in Montreal, take it. It is a good fight town with knowledgeable fans.

The FIGHT that made me fall in love with boxing was Navarette vs. Choi Chung Il. I was an American kid living in Manila, Philippines and I remember the streets were empty and life virtually went on a standstill. We were all glued to the tv watching the bad boy from Dajanggas defend his title and finally claim glory on homesoil. It was one of those "what were you doing when" moments.

F^CK@R broke my heart a few months later when he went toe to toe with Limon in the last round and got KTFO, losing the title in the process. But I was already hooked.

However, the FIGHTER that got me into boxing was Ali, when he fought Frazier in Manila. The whole country was just crazy about Ali they even built a whole shopping mall in his honor called Ali Mall. And when you were a kid or a teen, it was the place to be. It was the coolest mall in Asia, at the time. Those were the days.

I watched that fight. I remember reading afterwards that Drayton sustained some horrific injuries in the middle rounds of that fight but just kept going and kept taking it. He broke about 3 ribs, his nose, and his jaw I think. Psycho!!
