This whole thing from the start was between Wlad and Haye. Since day 1. This is Wlad's beef and IMO Vitali needs to back up. Little brother can handle this.

The problem with that line of thought is that there is no way in hell that David Haye could ever or will ever "whip" Vitali Klitschko. And I'll put all my points on that if the fight materializes.Comment

How about Wlad and Vitali stage a public sparring session with headgear and the winner gets to fight Haye. They could sell a lot of seats even for the sparring session, and nobody would get seriously hurt, so momma wouldn't be mad.Comment

It would be the biggest Heavyweight fight since..um?...in a long fucking time.Comment

As fiction, you're correct. The problem is reality gets in the way. Haye will have to kill Vitali to beat him. VK really hates Haye's guts, and having Vitali hate you is not healthy.Comment

I have to diagree with the great champ this time, he will retire after this, as he said he will not fight after 2010, so if he does fight Haye he will knock him out then leave 2 titles up for grabs, then it's a few years before Wlad can unify all of them, cause he will have to wait for the #1 and #2 contenders for both organizations to fight each other. So let Wlad take him Vital and that way he only has one belt to grab when you retire.Comment

At least I was right about one of those ATG's.
But that said, I would bet my house and cars that either Klitschko would definitely stop Haye if they fight him anytime soon.
And a UD against Vitali? That's crazy. Don't u know he throws 1k punches in a 12 round fight man? Get real with that mess.Comment

I was at a boxing talk given by a New York writer a couple of weeks ago (Mike Silver, author of The Arc of Boxing: The Rise and Decline of the Sweet Science), and when it got to the present day, predictably, as soon the Americans weren't ruling the HW division, the talk turned entirely negative. This writer even went so far as to claim that weight-training was killing boxing, and that a good middleweight from "the good old days" before weights and evil practice pads would have knocked out VITALI KLITSCHKO! And this guy wants to be taken seriously. In my opinion, Silver is an idiot. The whole thing ended in an orgy of negativity with questions from the audience that all focused on negative aspects of boxing (like Americans not ruling it anymore). There is no other sport where the media who "promotes" it and covers it CONSTANTLY TELLS THE PUBLIC THAT THEIR SPORT IS NO GOOD ANYMORE. Imagine if tennis promoters did the same thing with Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal -- telling the public that since Agassi and Sampras are gone, men's tennis is no good any more. Or NBA announcers constantly saying the sport sucks since Wilt and Kareem and Jordan are gone. Anyone doing that would be fired! And that needs to happen in boxing. Let's get rid of these morose old naysayers and find some people who can promote the sport intead of running it down all the time. People like Silver are killing boxing and trying to profit from it at the same time like vampires.Last edited by ChopperRead; 03-10-2010, 02:01 AM.Comment
