How quickly we boxing fans forget. Hatton went out with a "W", remember? He knocked out Wrestling Superstar Chavo Guerrero in his hometown of Manchester.

Come to think of it, Oscar retired.. after beating Shaq! No longer can we say Manny beat these two into retirement. They both went out "winners". : P

Great move by hatton if he does decide to retire. I think he wnated urnago to beat alexnader and fight juan but there was no chance of that happeneing, hatton would get KOd by alexander, bradley,maidana etc

I remember a few years back when I saw Hatton fight Collazo in Boston, supposedly the start of a great run of success and fame in the US. Too bad, but it didn't quite work out -- Collazo gave Hatton a beating and the crowd mostly booed the decision for Hatton, and from then on it was mostly downhill for Ricky over here. His UK fans of course remained loyal to the end.

He's already got heart problems, so not training anymore and ballooning up to 300 pounds will not help at all. Good luck Ricky, and try to take it easy on the pub grub and the Guinness.

Smart move by Hatton, he is not the fighter he once was but despite a few setbacks, he is one of the most 'loved' boxer of all time. Nobody ever had a fan base like he did and I doubt anyone will ever get so many fans to cross the ocean to watch him fight.
