I was never interested in this fight since day one. It's surrounded by bull**** from every angle.

He already fights flatfooted enough as is. He'll be target practice for pacquiao and he wont even be able to chase him and cut the ring off.

What good is that really gonna do him??? Given the circumstances All Clottey's corner really has is that gamble on weight.
The question is why would a trainer state the weight they want to come in at after the weigh in? Especially for a fighter who states he has trouble making the weight. Su****ious was being kind. Sounds like Bull**** to me.

If Clottey weighs between 160-170 then he will be healthier. It is fine if you believe Clottey does not have a chance irregardless of what weight he comes in, but get real 155!!!!!!

        This is bull****.

So Pac come in about 150 and Clottey only weighs 5 pounds more?

        Bull**** man.

Actually, this only boils down to what you are hypothesizing against what the Clottey's trainer said. Nowhere is Pacquiao's hand even seen on this article except when they discussed strategy.

it will be target practice either way.....Clottey is much better off coming in like he always does........i agree with the poster of this thread....it is su****ious....why come out and even say he won't be weighing more than 155 as a strategy???? Just looks and sounds fishy....wouldn't be surprised if clottey not being able to rehydrate past 155 is in the contract and has a gag order on it........Roach always wants to give Manny every advantage....and so he should...that's his job.......

yeah, exactly. clottey's trainer is in on the fix since he has nothing to gain from training a fighter who performs well or even beats an ATG, big money fighter.

it's not like it hasnt been done before. Roach talks about what weight pacquiao will come in on fight night all the time. Mayweather talks about how much he plans on weighing on fight all the time.

As far as the 160-170.....i've already stated that's why it's a gamble. Clottey would be rock solid if he weighed close to 170 but would be sitting duck to combos all night long and whiffing all night when he attempts to throw back.

You could be right because they did have a fight-night weight stipulation in the De la Hoya fight, in which De la Hoya could not weigh more than 147 on the night of the fight but Pac came in at 148lbs. Also, in the more recent fight with Cotto, the HBO Broadcasting team never mentioned the unofficial fight night weights for either Cotto or Pac, so you could be on to something...
