Clottey weighed 156 unofficially on fight night against Judah so it's not far off that.
I don't know what the deal was with him unofficially weighing 170 against Corrales on fighting. It seems strange that a guy would gain 21 lbs overnight and then a year later only put on 9.Comment

What a dummy, he should come in in the 160's since size and strength will be his main assets in this fight.Comment

He didn't get sued because of his fight night weight. Gamache sued Gatti and the NYSAC because he and his team claimed that Gatti didn't even make the contracted weight. The commissioner, I think Ron Stevens, just announced the weight and Gatti got off of it right away and started drinking water, while Gamache's team were yelling that the thing on the scale wasn't in the middle.
They also claimed the same thing happened for the main event when DLH made weight.
anyway there should a clause weight because it can be dangerous.indeed look at Gamache now.Comment

Most guys gain a decent amount of weight after the weigh-in. Gatti was one of the most extreme weight cutters. I'd prefer same day weigh-ins. Flip Homansky was one of the people who wanted the change from same day to day before and now he wants to go back to the old way.Comment

For once i agree with you, don't let it happen again lol. This has to be the dumbest strategy i've heard. Here is a guy who struggles to make weight to begin with and no matter how light or heavy he is, he will NEVER be able to match Pacs speed and his trainer is purposely draining him of his best asset. Something is wrong with this picture.Comment

30:4 is not a very good ratio...
and coming in at over 152 lbs. Clottey training with bigger opponents my opinion may backfire speedwise. Clottey pretty much is preparing himself to be a human punching back and plans to wear out Pac thru punching himself out using the 30:4. Clottey is a good boxer but I hate to see another David Diaz fight.
To beat Pac, you have to rough him up and delivery the KO punch or simply try to box with him. To stand there and take and block his punches is very risky. It is like I have to win by KO mentality and that will never happen if you are slow.Comment
