Does Abraham have 1 loss?

miranda won that fight. he won about 8 rounds and the only point deduction that was legit was the headbutt. the rest were terrible. the fact the judges would of had abraham winning without any point deductions is mental. maybe they were paying homage to the great sven ottke.Comment

I thought Miranda should have won for a number of reasons - first off, 5 points was ridiculously bad. Second, Abraham clearly "quit" or didn't want to continue when there was like that 10 minutes of everyone trying to figure out what the hell was going on. The fight should have been stopped right then and there.
With that said, he didn't technically lose and he beat Miranda in the rematch badly, so it erases any doubts of who was/is the better fighter.
I will always believe Miranda got screwed that night in Germany though, but that's part of the risk fighting in another guys backyard.Comment

If i remember right, Eastman gave Abraham a very, very close fight that could have gone either way. Even if the scorecard say otherwise, but then again the fight was in Germany if i remember it correct.Comment

A lot of undefeated boxers have unofficial losses. I thought Taylor at least fought to a draw against Pavlik in the rematch but I honestly thought he won the fight 115-113 and I saw several other people including The New York Times had the same score as I did for Taylor. He could have been the first to defeat Pavlik if it wasn;t for politics and the rule of "The undefeated fighter gets the nod in close fights
.
Calzaghe supposedly lost to Hopkins(I don't think so but a lot of people thought he did). A lot of people still, to this day, thought Mayweather lost the first Castillo fight. Several people thought Jones lost the first Tarver fight(which would have been his first official loss if he did lose).
It's just something we have t deal with in Boxing until something really strict happens.Last edited by -Spinal-; 03-04-2010, 06:26 PM.Comment
