Can anyone tell me what was Mayweather doing calling cotto out when he was supposably "green" yet his final excuse was that he lacked "stardom, attraction, ppvs, money"?

not mistaken and Cotto started his pro career there. Cotto
was at the Gatti fight with Hatton because they were potential
opponents. So how can people say Cotto was green? Arum knew
Cotto would have been demolished if he got in the ring with Floyd.
I NEVER believed Cotto could beat Floyd from watching him fight.
My sig says it all. Floyd wanted a guaranteed 10MIL for Cotto and
Hatton to fight Margarito for 8MIL but Arum couldn't guarantee that
so the fights didn't happen. Arum also couldn't guarantee Floyd 20MIL
for the Oscar fight but guess what? Floyd made the fight on his own
and got the 20MIL and it was on. I have no doubt in my mind that
if Arum got up that 10MIL for Cotto/Hatton that Floyd would have
fought them both and Margarito for the 8MIL. In actuality, who
did Floyd duck? I still would like to know?

Ok Grust, Imma ride with you here. People seem to forget that Uncle Bob had Cotto and May at the sametime, now May was damn near out the door when Cotto started to make a slight buzz. If Im not mistaken Floyd Floyd fought 3 fights at 140 Chop-Chop, Bruselles, and Gatti(I just saw Buselles fight on tv the other night against that young kid Mike Jones last Saturday night). Either way, Floyd waited for Cotto to catch a lil more buzz, and I remember Floyd cornering Cotto and Bob, and asked to fight Cotto right there and asked Bob to fight Cotto. Bob said NO.

Apparently it was enough for mayweather brother.

The last was the he lacked Ppv's,a name ect.

Sometimes these fighters want the fight more then the promoters themselves.I dont blame them, its a business game also. When talks of cotto vs floyd were in place it was a short lived buzz come to think about it,then everyone went theyre seperate ways.

But anyway I'm stealin this moment in a vain attempt to keep up.

Good question. Ortiz has the power to put Nate to sleep easily but, Nate is real crafty, plus he's got some pop that will get Victor's attention. Every since the Madiana fight, IDK how to feel about Vic Ortiz, if he would have continued, I think he could have gotten Marcos outta there; But as soon as he tasted a shot from somebody who could crack like him he folded like a cheap lawn chair. He's gonna have to show me that he can press on through some adversity first for me to completely co-sign on him again. I pick Nate.

Now if Francisco Bojado(WOW where has HE been.....I know right), makes good on the smack he's been talkin recently bout making a come back; I can co-sign on Victor for that fight. F.Bojado has become one of my greatest disapointments, I thought this kid was gonna be special.
bojado wow that's how you giving it up lol blast from the past .never really like him like that but felt he would make some noise .im at work now too but I'm a fein an't no denying that lol.i like ortiz in this one I feel his youth and speed will carry the day.i gotta tell you when campbell fought bradley he look old and slugesh and all around tired.the fight I'm dying to get ortiz in is with khan I think khan go's night night if these too met

Bull****! Floyd would have knocked Hatton out at 140 also. You probably haven't been watching boxing but a year, so you don't know that Floyd tried to secure a fight with Hatton at 140 in what would have been Floyd's FIRST fight at 140 after two fights with Jose Luis Castille at 135. Hatton's promoter and father turned the fight down because they said Hatton wasn't ready. Hatton had 35 fights at the time, all at 140. How the hell could he have not been ready after 35 fights? The fights against Collazo and Castille gave Hatton a false sense of confidence because the truth is he had no chance against Mayweather regardless of the weight and regardless of when he may have fought him.

But I think again Floyd moved up smartly. You right Shane skipped JWW. And Floyd was still trying to make his mark at LW when he called for Shane. I agree with the if you want him go get him mentality, but Shane was older and more developed physically than Floyd, he had a chance right there to beat Floyd; which I he would've been able to do back then. But he instead chose to ignore Floyd and brush him off as he wasnt worth that much money at the time. It was Shane's polite way of saying "Gitcha weight up Homie, before you come round here".
WoW My dude I love you mang (no ****)but we see eye to eye fighter's call each other out all the time and fight's don't get mad that's how it goes

Cotto had just fought his 23rd fight and his fourth championship fight at the time that Floyd fought Gatti. Claiming he was young and inexperienced is total bull****. Cotto had an advantage because he had fought at 140 his entire career and Floyd was one year removed from 130 pounds. Arum refused the fight because he knew that Mayweather would have ruined Cotto's career the way Margarito ruined it a few years later.

yes and cotto was coming out from a win over Torres.dont think cotto was anywhere at the top yet.rather floyd was comin out from clash fights with corrales, castillo chavez manfredy..and my man Gatti.there was no fight,of course floyd would have ruined cotto, cotto was still inexpert and plus he hadnt fought anyone.so yeah our uncle bob been smart.
