QUICK BUMP FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN THIS...MIKE was and is becoming even more interesting these days...an entertaining comeback, did u see the political parody he did the other day?
Young Scully how are you? This is Ray Corso the original trainer from Ring One in Hamden Conn. I had Ray Bright, Martin "Ike" Williams in the abf and Felix Marquez and Wilfredo Franco in the pros. Do you remember the "Hamden Hammer" Kenny Schmidt hahahaha and Jerry "Whimpy" Halstead? I remember you John when you started with Mac, and kept tabs on you through your boxing career. I hope your well and happy too, best to you.
I handled Mike for Cus at the JO Nationals (first year Colo Springs Oly. Center) and a few other shows I think the old man wanted me to keep an eye on Teddy more than the kid hahahaha!! Ray.

WOW, RAY CORSO, how are u my man????? Ray Bright, VERY talented guy...u know he is a Hamden cop now??? Brian Clark still has RING ONE up and running and is doing a good job. Its on Congress Ave. in New Haven. Marty Williams, another very talented kid...we were in the JO's together.
PS, just FYI...I write these things and u can be sure they are accurate...I either have th enewspaper articles and magazines that reported them at the time or I was there to see them live...etc...
There's some errors in the beginning. The article talks of an first round K.O but then it was a third round K.O
But I love your inputs to these boards. Amateur competition is rather fierce, and well overlooked by pro boxing fans.
Some of your best money spend, if you want entertainment, are some of the bigger amateur events.
well, amateur boxing up until around 1994 was more like pro boxing...u often saw some great fights...computer scoring ruined that...
you know scully i concider a lot of the goldenglove champs at a higher skill level then most of the chaps holding those hokey regional britt belts in the U.K.
