Not sure if u know this or not but each corner is made aware of the score between rounds so if you are heading into the last round and are up by a score of 15-4?? You literally just tell your guy "Don't get hit, that's all"...and he moves around, limits the action, etc...15-4 in computer scoring is almost IMPOSSIBLE to overcome under those roles by a guy who decides he's not going to let his opponent catch up...as the man said, "The thrill is gone, baby..."
I've literally seen in the Pan-Am games trainers use the strategy of getting a lead in the first 1-2 rounds then run in DLH vs Trinidad fashion. Made for very anti-climatic fights.

Not to mention body punches have about 1% chance of getting scored as a point.

I was at the World Amateur Championships in 2007 and although I love boxing, I was getting so annoyed at the scoring.

And they didn't reward body shots at all.

It's just so difficult with the computer. You literally have to make the guy quit to get a win.

I saw at least two flat out robberies in the semi-finals.

I was getting very annoyed by guys doing good work and not getting rewarded for it.

unless some American kid starts knocking people OUT in the amateurs there will be no way for promoters, etc to really and truly gague the talent of a guy as long as he is boxing under the computer scoring rules...its like a light saber fight compared to a match of fencing...

That's the BIGGEST bias against USA boxers maybe...especially ones with pro designs...body punching is apparently not even considered in the current amateur boxing world...

True that its almost like two different sports now

The cool thing about this is that more than 13 years later I asked Tyson about this guy and not only did he know that Jimmy had passed away but he knew how (drowned), too...

Is it True as a amateur Mike Tyson was stopped in the first round in a fight?

Kostya Tszyu vs Vernon Forrest is a good amatuer fight to watch also......
