Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

LOL!! A clinic is what Pete Whitaker gave Chavez in the Alamodome? Even if they fought a few years earlier..Whitaker may have even won by a wider margin. What would JCC done differently. Pete would have still popped the **** out of him , slipped his jabs and crosses, angled the **** out of Chavez and frustrated him

Right! You go ahead and think that. Mexicans love being the underdog any fking way, just ask Tony Margarito.

Did you know that Ramirez and Chavez are compadres and Chavez was much better in his prime than Ramirez so counting out that Chavez could not beat Pea Pea in his prime is ****ing absurd!

Did you know that the decision against Ramirez was a robbery also with most observers agreeing pete won.. Did you know in the rematch Sweet Pea beat the crap out of Ramirez by even a wider margin

Ok.. You feel that the SD was a just decision against Ramirez and you feel that Chavez would beat Whitaker in their primes.. I respect your opinion but I dont agree with it. Your Mexiocan and you're obviously proud of Chavez.. Good luck to you

So most of you guys think that Pernell won agains Chavez, and if the fight wasn't stopped an the 12th he would of won?, well, let me tell you something, after that fight Whithaker wasn't the same no more, he had some facial fractures, in his body was completly messed up to the point that he was peeing blood, and if we talk about the brain damage that he suffer because of that fight, you can still find him trying to be a world champion. That was a massacre in all means...
Chavez seams to be under-rated by the new "generation" of boxing fans, just the people that saw him fighting in his prime can say, he's not even close to be overestimated at all.

I assume you mean Taylor instead of Whitaker in your above thread..Pete Whitaker is no Meldrick Taylor he was a smarter fighter.. Taylor fought the wrong style as a professional for the talent he was blessed with.. He always reverted back to being a Philly fighter when hit and slugged toe to toe.. Whitaker was more of a technician. He would have frustrated Chavez at any time in their respective careers that they fought!!

Well said. Whitaker would have never slugged it out like that with Chavez. He would have done exactly what he did in their "draw". Slipping and intelligently moving away from Chavez left/rights while popping him with accurate punches all night.
