No. No, it wasn't going that way at all. Floyd is just better than Ricky Hatton in every sense...harder puncher, faster hands, better inside fighter, infinitely better defense. I wish Cortez had let them fight more because he turned it into a slow, boring, choppy fight, but there was no way that Hatton would win. And Floyd gets points for the most hilarious knockout ever. Hatton going face first into the turnbuckle...priceless.

People are giving Cortez too much flack for this fight.
Hatton was in over his head against Floyd, from round 3 onward it was clear as day that Floyd was outboxing Hatton.

The referee should be at least honored by Floyd fans as he exerted extra effort in refereeing while at the same time making sure that Floyd can execute his plan.

Yeah I mean why break up fighters when they are holding and hitting?
And Cortez specifically said before the fight that he would take a point away for any illegal action he thought was intentional. Hatton clearly INTENDED to land an illegal rabbit punch, even though the punch didnt land clearly.

I do agree in some sense that Cortez wouldn't allow Ricky to rough up Floyd on the inside. That's part of Hatton's gameplan. Rough the opponent up and then get to work.

I dont think Hatton would have KO'd Mayweather !!
I think Hatton would have landed some body shots and casue a few problems
