1. Top Rank - this company actually spends their own money to put on shows and builds fighters from pro debuts to champions.

who else..... Goosen Tutor, Shaw, DiBella, etc..... A wild card of mine is Prize Fight Boxing. This company has really built some good young fighters over the years. The Peterson Brothers, Rayonta Whitfield, Shawn Porter, Fernando Guerrero, etc..... It is good to see a young promotional company investing and believing in African American fighters.


And my obvious omission was Golden Boy because I believe they have been detrimental to the sport by monopolizing prime HBO dates and delivering garbage fights on those dates. They also never build a fighter but steal an already built fighter after another promoter has put in the work. They are not real promoters IMO.

I agree with everything you said in this post. Top Rank is the best promotional company. Floyd fans **** on Top Rank cuz Floyd does.

I also think TKO promotions is underrated. They know how to build local attractions.

Locally in Cali Thompson boxing promotions does good stuff. They co-promote Yohnny Perez and Timothy Bradley. They only hooked up with Gary Shaw so they can have connections with Showtime to get tv dates for their fighters.

GSP also does good work IMO... They show pretty good fights on Showtime. But, I think that is more credit to Showtime cuz they show great fights, no rights...

Man, we are on the same page. TKO and Thompson deserve a lot of credit. Shaw does get a gift with all of those Showtime dates. I think Shaw and Hershman's wives are like best friends or something like that. I can' t remember the exact relationship but it is something like that.

Well I beg to differ. I love HBO and Showtime. I dont see how people can be fans of boxing then get mad when we dont get EVERY fight we want.

Some fights will happen. Some wont. I want Lopez vs. Gamboa. Is Arum going to make it anytime soon. No. Does that mean Top Ranks sucks. No.
