The only remarkable thing about that fight was that the ref let it go on far too long, which could have endangered Barrett's long term health. Barrett was out on his feet long before it was stopped.
*****ko had him practically out on his feet, everybody can watch the fight on youtube so you making **** up is not going to change the facts.

although i think its more to do with him fighting haye than anything else
I am not a fan of the boxing sedative but he is good and has beaten some good fighters in his career.

Ruiz is very good at upsetting the flow of offensive his opponent is trying to employ and can certainly punch hard enough to put Haye down if Haye makes a mistake.

It is hard to make argument for Ruiz not being the best opponent that Haye has ever faced.

His last fight, against Valuev, went the distance, and Haye's best round by far was the 12th round.

In his last fight before that which went the distance (against Abdoul) he won all 12 rounds on all three cards.

In his last fight (prior to Valuev) that went more than 7 rounds he knocked out Fragomeni in the ninth, and although cut, he never looked at all tired - in fact it was Fragomeni who tired in the late rounds.

In his last fight (prior to Valuev) that went more than 6 rounds he knocked out Mormeck in the seventh, and looked as fresh in the seventh as he did in the first.

The myth about his stamina is just that - a myth. His stamina is fine.

This is a great insight, I think Haye is gonna whoop Ruiz in 7 rounds.

ruiz,,barret and nobles all rocked valuev and I doubt haye had a broken hand, it was never proven. just a bruise that most boxers get after a tough long fight

I have one question. Just when was Haye's hand supposedly hurt? As painful as it was I just sat and watched the entire Valuev-Haye fight again, and believe me once was one to many times to watch this snooze fest. What I did differently this time was I paid close attention to two things. I paid attention to every time Haye landed a right hand, which was not often so it was easy to watch for, and what was talked about in Haye's corner. And guess what I observed? Not once was Haye's right hand mentioned. He never once stated that either hand was hurt he never once acted as if it was hurt. No one in his corner ever touched or squeezed his glove to check for any signs of pain. And when he landed with the right he never once tried to shake out the pain that I have seen on countless occasions when a fighter has a hurt hand. I will say it again Haye never once mentioned or acted as if either of his hands were hurt between rounds or even when he landed a punch. Also, how come there has been little follow on how his supposed hurt hand is doing? I have not read everything on Haye after the fight but what I have read did not mention his problems with his hands. And after all in recent months Pavlik's hands have been getting more press time than Kelly's entire career put together. So one would assume Hayes hurt hand would garner at least a little attention. So, I have to ask. Was it because Haye ran his mouth so much and than the fight turned into such a classic snooze fest that Haye than developed phantom hand problems for an excuse? And if that is the case I don't understand why no one has called Haye out on it?

And as far as Haye rocking Valuev. I have tried real hard not watch Valuev for any reason. And with that said I find it real hard to believe that Valuev has not been rocked in any fights before Haye. And many of you act as if Valuev was tittering on his death bed when in reality he was wobbled for about three to four seconds before he launched a pretty good jab in Haye's direction. And maybe it is simply a matter that no one noticed that Valuev had been hurt before. After all Haye was hurt and knocked down by old Monte and yet Haye's fans and the referee seemed to miss it but I sure as hell didn't. And before you go off the deep end Monte hit Haye with a clean punch and Haye went down. And in every rule book I know of that is a legit knock down. Yet the announcers as well as the ref waived it off as a slip and called Monte out for hitting Haye when he was down. Now there was no doubt that Monte hit Haye when he was down but I find it odd that the ref seemed to miss the rabbit punches Haye was bouncing off the back of Monte's head when he went down.

In closing it should come as no surprise that I am no Haye fan. However, it does surprise me that so many fans who seem educated on the sport can be so fooled by a fighter who has yet to really prove in the ring what his mouth has talked about. And if he does eventually prove it by fighting world class heavyweights instead of just telling us what he will do to the likes of the Klit brothers I will be the first in line to admit that I was wrong about him. But as an old friend of mine use to tell me the proof is in walking the walk and not just talking the talk and Haye has become pretty good at talking the talk.

I doubt he hurt his hand too, IMO it was a made up excuse for his terrible performance, so he can still hype the fight against the Klitschkos.

The biggest problem for Ruiz will be Haye's speed i am not sure at his age he will be able to deal with it, His best hope is to time a good counter or hope Haye wears out.

He claims it was in the second round.

And his hand was extremely swollen - you can't be seriously claiming he had no injury to it at all.

Also, someone posted in another forum last November:

He broke a metacarpal. The X Ray results were in a London evening paper today. If you break one of those small bones you don't need plaster, I got told I had fractured one a few years back after hitting someone on the top of the head as they moved in. The hospital taped two fingers up and said the fracture would heal itself so long as I was careful not to **** it again.
