Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya is sticking to his guns. He doesn't think former welterweight champion Antonio Margarito should regain his boxing license. Margarito will go before the California State Athletic Commission next week. On January 24, an illegal substance was discovered in Margarito's handwraps before his scheduled fight with Shane Mosley. Margarito's license was later revoked for one year by the CSAC. He is not trying to get his license back. [Click Here To Read More]

I agree with much of what he has been saying, but at the same time I think Margs should get his license back anyways. I think the rest of his career will be his punishment if all he was was a tough chinned fighter with loaded gloves who now cannot use those gloves.
I can understand why De La Hoya is firm on Margs..flashback to the summer of 08 after Margs broke down Cotto.. DLH got a lot of hate since he did not want to fight Margs since "all the hispanics" would be cheering for Margs instead of him. He looked weak for wanting to fight Pac at the time instead of someone his own size. Margarito was questioning his manhood to the media on the spanish cable stations prior to the Pac fight with DLH.
THere's a lot of animosity between the two

I kinda agree with Oscar here. But also, I kinda want to see Margarito back in the ring... Yes, he did try to use illegal warps, but he is still an exciting fighter who never robs the fans from a good fight/knockout. Just my take.

Margarito should not get his license back until he shows true remorse. What he was trying to do was even worse then dressing up in fishnets and cheating on your wife.

Margarito isn't getting licensed in the U.S.
After you fail to get licensed and you fight in mexico, that's like telling the commission **** you, and in turn, you'll never get licensed in the states again.
Good, Margarito deserves to be prosecuted criminally.
