Talking **** and having a persona is part of bringing boxing back "the right way" Is that not one of the reasons the Ali era is considered the Greatest?????

Why do people who post here ignore Common Sense!!!!!

They hate undefeated pure boxers, thats what it is, undefeated pure boxers.
the dude said Sweat Pea was more of a fighter than Floyd yet he has less knock outs.....lol

You can say he is unwilling to fight the best or you can say the business of it didn't make sense for him to fight said person. Either way I am just like you I wish he would have fought Cotto while he was on top and maybe a few others. One thing I won't do though is blame any man for not accepting a deal he feels is unacceptable to him. I wouldn't have blamed Manny for pulling out of the Hatton of De la Hoya fight when he had already SIGNED THE CONTRACT if he wanted more money. Who the **** am I to say "Manny you can't get no more money shut up and fight" People are always gonna hate no matter who it is. **** Manny is getting all this love and he is the media darling right now and supposedly does everything by so called boxing standards. Guess what Manny still has haters so what does that tell you. It tells me that no matter what people do somebody is always going to hate. So just do what pleases you **** what another person over there talking about.
I totally agree with your post, had fmj fought the margaritos, cottos, pwills etc, he would be praised and mos def put on the pedestal, even had he lost. but he chose not to.....
Now as for Pac, who i think is a great fighter, he agreed to blood tests, just not the way FMJ demanded. Had fmj approached from a different more gentlemanly route in terms of asking for random testing, i think pac would have accepted it. but the accusations came out and were ugly, so he said fu.ck you. Do i think it was a wise thing to do? no, i think he should have just said fu.ck it, do it, prove crackhead daddy wrong and fought fmj in march...but to each his own i guess.
In the meantime, we have 2 good fights that can turn in to great ones....Pac/Clottey is going to be a fire fight, and FMJ/Mosely which could be a great fight if FMJ decides to trade here and there along with his defensive prowess or it could be a dud if fmj gets on his bike and pot shots all night.....

i favor Mosely only cause i had the honor of meeting him a few times. 1st time was a month after his 1st win over DLH(i was the only one in my familia rooting for him). He's a good, solid guy, very cordial and professional...
I also was around fmj one time in vegas while i was playing craps on new years day. I was hittin #'s like crazy and unknown to me, gary payton and Lisa Raye joined the table and started betting on me, the glove threw me a thousand dollar chip as a thanks, i was ****in surprised as hell when i looked at who threw it to me. then came fmj and his entourage.....dude was talkin loud and brash and seemed to sap the energy from the table....he laid his bet down and i crapped out.....after rolling 20+ numbers, i walked away with a lil more than a G, but fmj couldnt stop talkin ****, i thought it was funny as hell the way he was bit.ching in my direction. i mean c'mon, it was a $20min table, and mr big shot laid a couple hund down and lost it......as i walked away to cash out, payton said thanks and then said to fmj, you shoulda came earlier......

            • I love Whitaker. He took chances & fought the best out there. Fought Tito Trinidad in his prime. I don't think Floyd will do that. He avoided Margarito, Cotto,Paul Williams for so long & that's the reason why he's not the fighter of the decade.Your O record don't matter if you fought 80% mediocre boxers.

you keep making excuses on why he IS THE BIGGEST PPV DRAW IM BOXING......

first it was he wasnt the biggest draw.....then it was because he has had the most PPV's....then it was his opponents fan base....now its cause of his persona?

Make your mind up man you sound pathetic

jmm was overweight and overmatched floyd could have knocked him out anytime during that fight yet he decided to fight overly cautious. If you are fightin for million of people why wouldn't you go for that extra push to give fans what they want.

He's too defensive, dont like to get hit, wont trade, he's cutesy, a runner. A decade or more after his retirement then all of a sudden he's great in your opinion and Floyd is poor excuse. Dude Floyd is just as skilled if not more than Pea was. Floyd is even a better inside fighter than Pernell, and his upper body movement is better. Pernell however, had better legs and use more tactics aimed at frustrating and annoying his opponent, not necessarily hurting him, than what Floyd employs. Floyd does want to bust you up a lil bit and in the final rounds he is almost always trying to tee off.

The thing I like about Floyd is he seems to have studied and learned from the mistakes of the other greats before him and knows how to not get caught up in what people are saying. Boxing is about hitting and not being hit. No one wants to end up like the Great Ali or with a detached retina like Leonard or punchy like Pernell it's about winning while maintaining your good health and being very successful. Unfortunately even Shane looks punchy right now.
