styles make fights. you could make a great case mosley beat cotto, i had him beating cotto and im far from the only one. triangles theories never work.
and even if cotto convincingly beat shane and had the exact same style as mayweather, u can still never count mosley out. shanes resume speaks for itself, some of u ppl seem like u started watching boxing a few years ago and never bothered checking out what happening before u tuned into the sport.
never ever sleep on shane mosley, or u will end up sleeping at the hands of shane mosley.
Shanes Resume is ****...take off his losses...the 2 times he took steroids vs Oscar & his best win is vs a guy (Margarito who is a cheater)
The thing I like about Floyd is he seems to have studied and learned from the mistakes of the other greats before him and knows how to not get caught up in what people are saying. Boxing is about hitting and not being hit. No one wants to end up like the Great Ali or with a detached retina like Leonard or punchy like Pernell it's about winning while maintaining your good health and being very successful. Unfortunately even Shane looks punchy right now.
how am i making excuses? i have been saying this from my first post. his ppv numbers are down to his persona because he plays the bad guy, without this he would do **** numbers because of his style. he needs a persona to generate interest to the casual fans because his style is not appealing.
you sound ******, for basically calling the american public ******.....
people don't buy floyd's fights to watch him talk ****, that may be why they tune into 24/7's and whatnot. when you make a decision to BUY a fight, there's a reason you are buying the fight, and it has nothing to do with his persona.
if everybody thought floyd was just a "boring" boxer, as you do, there's no way ppl will still buy his fights. surely, everyone would've caught on by now.
is it possible, many ppl are fans of skills, and although everybody likes to see wars and slugfests, many people respect a highly skilled athlete that totally outclasses his opponent?
like dude said earlier, you ask 1000 people why they watch boxing, and you'd probably get 1000 different answers. what may not be appealing to you, doesn't make it less appealing to anybody else. judging by the numbers he does, many ppl enjoy the dude's style....funny thing is, you yourself probably watches every mayweather fight, then jumps on boxingscene to talk ****, b/c it seems like the "in" thing to do.
at the latter part of his career he decided to man up. exclude marquez from that list because that was a glorified sparring session. You cant compare ali to floyd because Ali fought the best consistantly throughout his career and gave us memorable fights, floyd has not.
I aint excluding ****, and how you figure he manned up in the later part of his career? Do you know nothing about Floyd's early career? Did you only just learn of Floyd during Pac negotiations? You think Floyd became P4P multi weight champion by facing unaccomplished bums?
Floyd has beat more current and former champions than any other active fighter....that is all he fights is current and former champions period.

Had JMM been as successful in his fight with Mayweather as he was against Pacquiao would the discussion of weight be an issue. Pacquaio moved up and was successful against Cotto and DLH so that's ok. JMM made the decision to move up in weight just like Pacquiao did but he got in the ring with someone who had too much skill and got outclassed. On fight night, Pacquaio was still smaller than DLH but his skill spoke not his weight. JMM was not fat as many keep suggesting either, look at the post fight interview and he was just as lean as he always was. Mayweather moved up to 154 to fight DLH but again it was skill not size that won the fight. In fact I can almost guarantee you that DLH was weighing at least 165 for that fight compared to Mayweather's 150-155 tops. It wasn't weight but skill that carried the night.
*******s were wishing Marquez would give Floyd a tough fight but when he didn't they had to come up with a new campaign with the whole weight thing. These guys apparently have no lives and wanna have senseless debates cause none of them can tell you why Manny refused to be randomly tested. Floyd is what boxing is all about and the haters wont rest until he loses then they can say but he lost but life is about striving for perfection not losing.
what do you mean all time greats? there are hof's and elite fighters that he could have fought like casa, tszyu, cotto, margarito, williams, pac.
LMAO..Casamayor? FAIL....
Tszyu?..He lost to Hatton and retired....
Cotto? When they were both on Top Rank Floyd wanted the fight...Arum & Cotto didnt....
Margarito? He has been caught cheating
Williams? He started at Middleweight and has MOVED Backwards to fight smaller fighters.....when is WIlliams gonna fight a SMW or LHF?...hell when is he ever gonna fight a MW?
